Blake Griffin gone for season

Post#1 » by cdt3 » Thu Jan 14, 2010 12:47 am

Blake Griffin's injury did not heal. He is undergoing surgery again to repain and is DONE for the year. Maybe will never be back as he was.

Wow.

Making Tyreke Evans as rookie of the year that much more likely

If Tyreke stays as good as he has been there was no pretty much no chance anyway on who would have won the award. Now Jennings is basically is only competition and that's if Jennings plays like he did earlier in the year.

I was thinking the same thing, and how mad we were that we ended up with the 4th pick. I guess the basketball gods were really looking out for us after all (for a change)!

+1 on this! We were all pretty pissed even though mathematically we had more chance to win #4 than #1.

How about the Petrie not biting on trading up for Rubio or Thabeet or Griffin and taking a not athletic enough 6-5 PG everyone "knew" wasn't a PG putting a legendary rookie year?

Then beating the Spurs and Blazers to trade up to steal a skinny 6-9 Israeli who can hit half of his 3ptrs or dunk in traffic on the break like Casspi.

Petrie was on FIRE this past offseason.

We couldn't have traded up for Griffin, and I like to think we wouldn't have traded up for Thabeet. >.>

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Petrie had the number 1 pick to see Evans a King anyway.

Just because we draft Griffin #1 don't mean he would have gotten hurt with us. He got hurt in a preseason game, who is to say that happens with us? I wish Blake a full recovery and hopefully he can be the player the Clippers want him to be. He's still only 20 years old.

ok first of all I am very glad we ended up with Tyreke and I wouldn't have it any other way... but for you to say that is just ridiculous... if we did get the #1 pick, and if we did draft griffin, he most likely wouldn't have gotten injured... he woudn't play in the game he got injured in, he woudln't dunked the way he did, he wouldn't have gotten injureed... you never know, because none of that happened... but you can't speculate that if he WAS in a kings uniform the SAME injury would happen to him... its not like its bound to happen no matter where you are... we got lucky and blake griffin didn't....and lets keep it at that

Seriously! Dunno if some remember, but I was getting into some heated conversations right before and after the draft with a few Rubio d*** riders on why Evans was the right choice. So many people had there panties in a bunch it was ridiculous!

Regarding Blake, I for one was never in love with the guy. I knew of what he did in college but I never pictured him being a good fit on our team, especially while going through a rebuilding mode. I was all for Tyreke then, and I'm even more for Tyreke now.

Well, in reality, he didn't really have any shot at ROY anyways even if he was coming back this month as first expected. Its too bad, though. You gotta kinda feel for the guy. I still think he's gonna be solid, but probably not on Tyreke's level.
