Who do you want to get rid of the most?

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Thu Jan 14, 2010 11:52 am

I think House is the most limited player on our roster so I feel he should go. Scala, Walker, Giddens etc all can do multiple things. With House all you get is a short shooting guard who only can shoot. He's totally useless at everything else.

I disagree. It is better to have a player who is great in one thing than average in all. House is extremely important for this team because he is a great shooter and that is exactly what we need.

I would get rid of Giddens, Walker, Scal, Shelden before Eddie...but JR is the first to go, obviously...he just doesn`t belong in the NBA.

Cfan, you have to be kidding me. House is about the only one you listed who can contribute in the playoffs.

Glenn Davis for a few reasons.

1) He probably is the most realistic player we can trade to still have a good chance at the championship this year.
2) He has decent trade value to a team that needs PF depth.
3) He's the only one on this list we can trade straight up without adding any other pieces. If we wanted to move any of the other players on this list, we would have to give up several, not just one, to get anyone that would actually get meaningful minutes.

I agree completely. Big man depth in the playoffs is totally over-rated. Just look at last year's team - it was never a problem.

I'd like to see every player on the list go sooner rather than later. Not a one of them will help us in the playoffs.

I'd much rather have Giddens in the game then House because House cannot defend. Sure he occasionally gets hot, but he's defensively handicapped, his man drives into the paint at will.

in my blind loyalty I've loved every player that has ever suited up for the Celts. I agree that Eddie is not bringing much to the table this year; if he's not hitting shots he's pretty much useless other than the positive energy he brings to the team. One thing that never shows up in stats is the impact that a guy has in the locker room. According to everything I've read or heard our team really likes one another and we have great team chemistry. Eddie and Scal are not the greatest players out there but they fit in with the rest of the guys and provide positive energy. I voted for Giddens because event though I think he has talent he hasn't put it to use. He might be agreat shooter but he never shoots. I love the way he rebounds and he plays hardnosed defense but at least walker isn't afraid to shoot. Honestly I would have kept hudson over giddens since he fills a need. We need a wing scorer off the bench. Eddie isn't big enough and Daniels, GIddens and Walkers aren't good enough shooters. Kevin Martin, Raja Bell etc are the type of guy we need. =We also need a reliable, seasoned back up point guard. Eddie and tony just aren't good enough. Sure we beat the Nets by 24 last night but they outscored us by 12 in the second half and a lot of that was because we had zero continuity on offense.

I don't think Baby should be traded because he really saved our asses last year. If we didn't battle Chicago for so long we might have gotten to the Finals. Once he gets into shape he'll be really good. He scores in multiple ways and works hard. Plus who knows if KG and/or Rasheed will get hurt again.

i voted for Shel. with BBD back and productive, Shel is now our 5th big, and he is really our 6th given that Scal is ahead of him in the rotation.

a close second would be giddens or walker.

house is a must-keep. he's a guy who can win a game for you off the bench. that's rare. he hasn't been shooting well but let's be real, at the end of the year he'll shoot the same % he does pretty much every year. so i look at it like he's going to get hot sometime. no way we dump him now.

no way TA should lead this. he is actually productive and decent off the bench, and some days our best reserve.

I'd agree with this, but Baby's a BYC player so it'd make it difficult to trade him right now. Maybe once that status drops.

For similar reasons, I'll say Tony Allen. He's shown a lot and has surprised me this year (I said he had negative value entering the season and that no one would take him straight up). Now he looks like he could get a player back for similar pay (ie Hinrich, with House and Scal added to make the deal work) along with his expiring. Also, I still don't trust him, from a physical or mental standpoint, to help us in the playoffs, so I'd love to move him for a quality piece.

And if this is who I'd like to just drop to make a roster spot rather than get rid of by trade, it'd be Bill Walker. He has the same value as Giddens around the league (none), would be cheaper to cut, and is trusted by Doc less so he's not even going to get the opportunity to help the team in any way.

1.giddens because he sucks period.
2.Scal sucks but has trade value
3.T.allen bonehead and trade value good defense
4.BBD he would be my 1st to get out on personal reasons but decent player trade value
5.Walker sorta sucks decent price for a roster spot next year.
6.williams has been a blessing and I hope we sign him next year.
7. House blah blah a one trick pony, uh yeah about that, been here three years now One championship two 60 win seasons and could be another one all the while he has been main pg sub. He is vital doesn't complain nor slack on trying to d up his man, shoot lights out and as pg has .50 turn overs for the 16.9 minutes he plays he spreads the floor. I hope we sign him again. swagger
