Dear Laker fans,

The Toronto Raptors RealGM Board has banded together and is challenging each other to donate money for Haiti, we have raised over $1,500 as of this morning. We'd like to invite you to join us in helping Haiti or challenge you to start your own Haiti thread.

Count me in, and thanks for the info.

Everyone needs to stepup in one way or another. These people are in desperate need of help, blood food and clothing.

GOD BLESS THEM ALL.

While I am being very careful...looking to avoid scams, I will be donating something as soon as I do the proper research. Everybody should try to give something. People in the United States just dont know how blessed they are.....if they have never traveled anywhere.

^ It's good that you're being careful. I donated to Yele Haite and have read some disturbing articles about how they have been distributing funds. I can only hope that they do the right thing now that this information has come out because it's already too late to cancel the transaction and redirect the funds.

You'll find some good information here on various charities (administrative costs, salaries, etc.): http://www.charitynavigator.org/

The Red Cross Text seems like the only one I've seen that you can trust.

Did I hear right Obama gave 100M, China gave 1M?

What did NOrleans get? Not 100M, NOrl was funded in great part by the US taxpayers. Remember when the Red Cross said no more donations. But then the area still isn't back to normal I don't get it.

The cell phone companies should give $10 for every account they hold to Haiti, they rob us blind month to month. They'll probably tax us on our Haitian donation.
