How about Agent 0 for our annual mid season pg pick up

Post#1 » by Hemingway » Sun Jan 17, 2010 2:30 am

If Was voids his contract and he doesn't have to go to jail, why not? He could win a ring as back up point and try to get a starting job on a good team next year. It would make us even more hated.

would be great, instant offense off the bench with a ball handler, im pretty sure i read that washington won't be able to void his contract though. New York looks like a place where he'll land, or orlando

Well, Wiretap has him being interested in Orlando due to his relationship with Otis Smith. Don't know where they'd have room for him though.

IIRC, he hates the Celtics thanks to O'Brien and Wallace screwing him over. They apparently promised to take him in the 1st round, but opted for that stud, Joe Forte. Great move Chris!!!

Arenas would never agree to come off the bench. So he'd rather go to Orlando or LA where he can start.

all that stuff?

and u want a guy that threatened his own TEAMMATE to shoot him in face cuz of thug ****, and even brought the guns to the lockerroom and told him to pick one later that week? REALLLY

u want that on your team. **** REALLY.

jesus, some people should just save the worlds overpopulation problem on there own.

Wasn't Chris Wallace. There was some debate over who to take with the 3rd pick (IIRC, Wallace wanted Parker and Obie wanted Zach Randolph, or maybe the other way around) and Gaston stepped in and gave the pick to Red. He knew he was selling the team and he felt bad about how he had let Pitino strip Red of his Team Presidency title, so he did it to make nice on his way out the door.

Red is a DC guy who was very tight with Forte's HS coach at DeMatha, and there you go.

True story.

The funniest thing Gilbert ever did was slap Mike Dunleavy Jr in the face with a slice of pizza during a team flight.

He could be valuable for us when we play Chicago. Think about it, if someone messes with Tony, Gilbert will have his back.

Oh man I don't know how I feel about Gil. Great talent, and by all accounts not a bad guy, despite his mouth and his antics (which, I dunno, I have a love/hate thing with: if he were on my team, hell yeah I'd love his style! But being on the other side...not so much. Kind of like 'Sheed)...yet, despite being not a "bad guy," he goes and pulls a stupid stunt with his guns. What do you make of someone who acts like this other than that they're a colossal headcase?

And for that reason, despite his talent and his desire to win, I'd err against bringing him onto this team, although with the team culture, KG keeping everyone in line, the respect players have for Doc, it could work. But still, headcases usually have trouble for a reason.

Doc can handle Gilbert. If you can get him - you do it. Doc has handled guys like Bassy and Ricky Davis just fine. What Doc can't handle is lazy players - a Mark Blount for example. OTOH I don't think he wants to come here. He could start here too - bring RA off the bench.

Still its a pretty long shot to get him..

I think the lineup of Rondo, Arenas, Pierce, KG, and Sheed would probably make us easily the most hated team in the NBA, if we aren't already.

Actually we probably are. Everyone seems to hate the Celtics.
