Dr. King represents a significient part in the Civil Rights Era. His doctrine on unity and equality from segregation and discrimination and leading peaceful movements using non-violence methods lead him to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. His greatest speech " I Have a Dream" still echoes throughout history today. Kings mentions in his speech about "All men are created equal." We as a people should be living this statement. We shouldn't judge one another by the skin that covers our bodies. We should judge each other by what's inside of us. The characterictics that makes us who we are. We as a human race should stand up for equality and sense of peace. The same peace that can give us hope to inspire a sense of unity to get along with one another. Stop the hate. Increase the respect.

The Grizzlies will honor Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and future Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning durin the game for their respectful contributions to human and civil rights.

Robertson and Mourning are this year’s recipients of the National Civil Rights Museum Sports Legacy Award presented by FedEx. The award pays tribute to athletes who have made significant contributions to civil and human rights and who have laid the foundation for future leaders through their careers in sports in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Keys to the Game

1. Continue to play well on this historical holiday
2. Play with heart.
3. Don't give up.

Things I need to see:
-Gasol and Z-Bo need to go to work on their softies.
-Rudy also needs to stop settling and attack Grant's corpse.
-Juice has to make better decisions than last game.
-Conley needs to blow past Nash any chance he gets.
-Coach Hollins not putting out all the subs in at one time.

The Suns only real "softie" up front is Channing Frye. Robin Lopez is back and starting to play well for them. He's definitely not soft. Neither is Amundson or Stoudamire. But for sure Randolph and Gasol are stronger and more physical than what Phoenix has.

Since Memphis likes to play the uptempo game like the Suns, I worry a bit about the defensive end. I'm sure Hollins will emphasize getting back but with Steve Nash it's hard to do. Nobody outlets a quick, long pass like him. Nobody.

And I can see Phoenix exploiting Randolph if Memphis puts him on Stoudamire. The Nash/Stoudamire pick and roll is a beautiful thing to watch and even top defending power forwards have trouble with it.

The Suns ought to have plenty of motivation today given the last game between these two teams and the beatdown that Charlotte administered to them on Saturday. Hopefully, the Grizz can stay focused and weather the incoming storm to get the W.

Great play so far for the Grizzlies! Rudy Gay has been fantastic attacking the hoop.

they fight everysingle ball. we are playing like a team tho it looks like the 5 starters are just a bunch of scorers. it is not that way...

IT was so strange when coach throw S-hunter in there. looks like it worked out. great win. grizzs....great win!

I'm glad Hollins threw in Hunter over Thabeet.

Thabeet looked overwhelmed playing against Amunson and the Suns (understandable given the pace).

Good poise from Memphis. They could have folded their tents at a couple of stages but instead they absorbed the Suns runs and fought to hold the lead.

It was a bit odd to see Phoenix playing well inside and the Grizzlies as the better perimeter team. It was a bit of a role reversal. Thank goodness Gasol didn't get any more fouls after picking up his early ones. There's not much depth. Carroll was kind of manic with up and down play that at times was a little out of control. Young made a couple of rookie mistakes at key times. Give me Kyle Korver and Kurt Thomas, two unheralded veterans that don't make many mistakes.

But the guys once again kept to their game and in the end it paid off. This team is for real.

Glad we caught PHX in a losing slump. The game was a good matchup. The Grizz played with good energy and even held it together when the game was tied and got tight. Good win on MLK Day.
