I would love to have Devin Brown on this team. Kareem Rush for Devin Brown or just use the TPE for him. The Clippers need a back-up shooting guard in the worst way and an upgrade at back-up point guard.

PG - B. Davis/S. Telfair/M. Collins
SG - E. Gordon/D. Brown/R. Davis
SF - R. Butler/A. Thornton/S. Novak
PF - B. Griffin/C. Smith/B. Skinner
C - C. Kaman/M. Camby/D. Jordan

That's a stacked 15-man roster that can make a playoff push after the All-Star Break.

Maybeee this one?

Clippers get

Granger and TJ Ford

Pacers get

Camby, Thornton, R. Davis, Telfair, Minnesotas 2010 1st round pick, Clippers 2011 1st round pick and maybe some cash (we know sterling is cheap so not likely)

I really want Battier on this team, but I wouldn't bite on that deal. I would consider something like Thornton/Butler for Battier.

I'd love to take a stab at Dwayne Wade. We'd have to give up Eric Gordon, some picks and some expirings for a 1/2 year rental. But our odds of making the playoffs would increase dramatically, thus lowering the value of this year's pick. And imagine if we signed him long term? How sick would this lineup be?

Baron, Wade, Thornton/Butler, Griffin, Kaman

Who knows, Wade may enjoy his newfound rivalry with Kobe.

Interesting how much fans think they know about players on other teams, when they havn't seen them play much. Okur can defend, rebound, and block when he wants to. He shut down Yao in the playoffs several times. Not many centers in the league that can do that . Problem is he prefers the perimeter.

Det the Threat wrote:Though, with Utah in fire sale mode and trying to get under the luxury tax we might be able to do something like this.

Kirilenko, Matthews, 2010 First Round Pick(via New York)

for

Camby, Thornton, Collins, R. Davis

Maybe Utah should also throw in Boozer and Deron Williams for two future second round picks from the Clipz.

Was having a play with trade machine, this works financially, but I'm not sure what to think of it...

Josh Howard
Drew Gooden (exp)
1st

for

Kaman
Thornton.

Initial thought is that we get the upgrade at SF while giving ourselves a bit more room next season for a FA big man. If we don't get that big man though, it obviously leaves us with a gaping hole in the front court. Also get a pick at about 20th to go with ours at about 10th.

Josh Howard's done.
His real value is him being an expiring contract thanks to a team option this summer.
The Mavs also can't trade their first round pick before 2012, thanks to that Kidd/Harris swap two years ago.

As i'd only trade Kaman for an upgrade, i wouldn't ever consider something like this.

No thank you, we'll keep Kaman. Centers are much harder to come by than SF's.

loflin3hree5ive wrote:What would everyone think if the Clippers ditched the 2010 plan and traded Camby's expiring for David West? Griffin would play mostly at SF.

Kaman/West/Griffin/Gordon/Davis

Does anyone know that the Clippers actually have a 2010 plan, in terms of making a big FA offer to someone who realistically might sign with us? I consider guys like Bosh, Wade, Lebron and whoever more as magic beans than real possibilities.

Also, there's no addition without subtraction, at least when it comes to Clipper payroll. If we were to sign a signficant max contract FA, then that reduces the chances of keeping guys like Gordon, DJ, etc.

All I really want and hope for is a upgrade at the SF position, and Blake to come back healthy. We don't need a superstar at SF, just someone who is either a consistent scorer or a really good defender. There are a few possibilities to achieve this, are there any second-tier FA's that might qualify here? I was hoping that Camby + picks would be great trade asset this deadline, but there's no good matches for us in the marketplace (just our luck, no Pau Gasols this time around.) To put this in perspective, if Caron Butler was 2 years younger then I think he would have been a great fit. Battier would be great too, everyone talks about him but Houston loves him. Someone in this caliber is all we need (which is good because I don't think we're realistically gonna land anyone better.)

The David West idea is an interesting one, but unfortunately not sure if we want to put Griffin at SF- had he been healthy and playing we would be in a much better position to judge his versatility here.

There are a lot of other nice ideas here to strengthen the roster, but I think starting SF position is by far the number 1 issue we must address either by this trade deadline, or in the offseason. The rest is like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic, if we don't address this.

If we land a legitimate scorer, we reduce those stagnant periods on offense. If we land a defender, we address those offensive lapses the other way, by keeping the opponent's score down too. Just do something, our current SF by committee isn't good enough. With a upgraded SF and healthy Blake Griffin, a playoff spot is ours to lose next year.

I don't think we have a solid 2010 plan yet. And madmax mentioned Sterling wouldn't support having a payroll over $65m.
I'm really doubtful that Wade or Lebron would sing with us in the off season. At this point I'd rather have a guy like Iggy at the SF and use rest of the money to resign players like Butler and Smith. And of course get rid of Dunleavy ;)

This deal works on ESPN and RealGM trade machines, but Rondo being a PPP might mess things up.

Ray Allen and Rondo for Baron, Kaman, and Thornton.

I don't see us winning anytime soon with Baron being the leader. Having a young nucleus of Rondo, Gordon, and Griffin along with at least $30 million to spend this offseason is intriguing.

How about we'll help the Sixers out financially?

Camby, R. Davis, Butler, Collins

for

Igoudala, Kapono, Brezec

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=5432957

Our team next year:

Baron/Telfair/
EJ/Igoudala/Kapono
Igoudala/Thornton/Kapono
Griffin/(Smith)/DJ
Kaman/DJ

We could then use our draft pick for the BPA and sign some cheaper vets/free agents to fill out our roster.

Thoughts?

I'd probably do it if they accepted it, but I'd much rather move Al than Butler.

I think something like Camby/Al/'10 First (Top 3 Protected) for Iggy/J. Smith might work.

sixers want to move Dalembert and whats his name for expirings. They are looking someone with a cheaper contract to trade for Iggy.
