GT: Wed Jan 20th Bobcats vs Heat 7PM

Post#1 » by Walt Cronkite » Wed Jan 20, 2010 3:51 pm

Charlotte Bobcats (20-19) vs Miami Heat (21-19)

Starting Matchup
PG: Felton vs Alston
SG: Jackson vs Wade
SF: Wallace* vs Richardson
PF: Diaw vs Beasley
C: Mohammed vs O'Neal
*No news on whether he'll play or not. Flip Murray likely to get the nod if Wallace must sit out.

Season Matchup
The Cats and Heat have only met once so far this season, on January 2nd in Miami. The Bobcats started poorly, but a dominant 2nd quarter provided a halftime lead. Jackson led the way with a then-season high of 35, which included 13 in the 4th quarter. His buzzer beating 3 with 7 minutes left in the game put us ahead for good. DJ Augustin's contributions, 13 points that afternoon--all coming in the final quarter, would help seal the deal and the Bobcats would cruise to a 10 point victory, 107-97.

Great GT Walt. Thanks.

Apart from the turn over rate and the defensive rating it's amazing how close these teams are Hollinger rating wise.

Should be in for a real barn burner then..................so long as Crash is good to go.

keep the streak alive! Gotta take Beasley out of the game early. Wade is going to get his, just don't let Beasley get going. Or Q-Rich for that matter, you know he's gonna launch it whenever he can.

Big game for the Bobcats. A part of me just hopes Crash takes this game off so he can heal/rest and we can play some of our younger players. He has been playing a ridiculous amount of minutes and I think we can survive one game without him

On a side note: One of the Miami Heat players and their trainer was at the Childress Klein YMCA (uptown) today working out. Was a little surprised to see an NBA player there as you would figure they would use some private venue (either Bobcats facility or something else). Not positive who it was but I think it was Yakhouba Diawara but I could be wrong... (wasn't any of their marquee players)

Important game tonight.Lets hope Jaxs stays outta foul trouble. And I hope Wallace takes it easy.Tonight would be a good night for the bench to show up.

If the Cats can keep Wade's supporting cast in check, this should be a win.

Felts should be able to handle Skip
Jax will have his hands full with Flash
Hopefully Crash is healthy enough to go nuts on Q
Diaw is going to be under the pump against Beasley
Nazzy should be able to control JO'N

It'll all come down to our bench (DJ, Flip, UPS, Gana) Vs their bench (Mario, Wright, Haslem, Anthony) IMO.

hopefully i am wrong, but i expect a few subpar games from crash now that he has been slowed my injury. i like to compare crash to a train. he starts the season slow. it takes him a while to get up to full game speed on the season, but once he gets in going full speed he will will put together a string of great games... until he gets slowed or de-railed, usually by injury. then he starts all over again and he will slowly pick up steam over the next handful of games until he is back to full speed.

I think the key to this game is keeping Felton on Wade to keep him from going off. Jack and Gerald can play the 3 and 4. Unfortunately this means D.J.'s going to be on Alston which might not go over so well. Wallace really is a warrior. Anyone else in the league would probably sit this one out but Crash knows sitting down could cost his team a loss and he couldn't live with that.

The Raymond Felton who drives to the rack today is a totally different guy to the one who has been driving to the rack for the past 4 1/2 years.
