the trade that danny NEEDS to make

Post#1 » by Papa Irish31 » Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:43 am

Scal, Tony, and Eddie to Chicago for Kirk Hinrich - i have been all over this one for a while now, and truly believe that we can A. seriously get hinrich due to his lengthy expensive contract, and B. that hinrich is the perfect player to round out a 9 man rotation for the playoffs on this team. THINK about it, you would have the starting five, with hinrich backing up the point and shooting guard positions ( guarding both well and strecthing out the floor i might add) Daniels backing up the shooting guard and small forward spots, contrasting hinrichs game quite nicely, as he is able to post up, drive, and find the open man, which as quis drives and the point guard colapses in, would quite often be Kirk

and then rounding out the 9 man rotation we would have big baby and sheed backing up the posts, that sounds like a bench that is a definite winner

You do realize the other team has to agree to the trade?

I've wanted the same deal done as well. But I think if it was available, Kirk would already be here.

Why when they could get something much better? Hinrich is a starting quality PG and other teams could offer so much more.

I can't see the Bulls making this trade unless they honestly feel like they have a shot at a big name in the offseason, but I am unfamiliar with their cap situation and too lazy to check into it. However at face value Heinrich is the best player in this deal and the Bulls been playing somewhat better as the season goes on, I don't see them wanting to water down what talent they have if they have an outside shot at the playoffs. If it happened I'd be psyched though, Heinrich is a versatile player and a decent defender.

There's only a hand-full of players I would've an interest in acquiring if they were indeed available.

Kirk Hinrich
Shane Battier
Boris Diaw
Steve Blake
Randy Foye

I would love this trade to happen, it solves our biggest issue over the last three seasons having a dependable third guard.

If we could then get a reliable back up three such as Nocioni for Davis and Giddens then you could have Sheed backing up the four and five, Nocioni backing up the three and smaller fours, Daniels backing up the two and three and Hinrich backing up the one and two. If healthy (which is still our biggest if) we would have a great balanced team with an excellent chance of going all the way again.

Rondo would veto any trade involving Hinrich.

The reason i think that the Bulls would seriously consider making this trade is because if how much they are paying Hinrich, and the fact that with Rose as their point guard, he is forced to play out of position for them, and while he can adequately guard shooting guards and stretch the floor, I dont believe that they think he is the answer at shooting guard because he can't score enough points

on the celtics however, he would become an uber role player, backing up Rondo at the point, and being able to play off the ball when rondo is in

i would throw in a first if thats what needed to get the deal done, and i honestly believe that chicago would do it, because face it, his salary is a crutch for that team going forward in trying to rebuild around rose

also, management can tell the fans they are making a run at wade, and they'll immedietely be all for it, and without kirks 9 mil on the books they will only have 26 mil in salary, they should be able to persuade a better fit for their team to play shooting guard this offseason, such as wade, joe johnson, or even go after amare who they have been liked to for years

i would find it hard to believe that an era of players that grew up watching MJ wouldnt want to play for the bulls

Bulls would agree to this in a millisecond. Hinrich is a grossly overpaid bench player.

Id love that too but Nocioni makes too much, we couldnt match salaries unless memphis swooped in and helped us out somehow, you can only trade big baby for so much of his contract, however here is a deal i would look at making after the hinrich trade: Big Baby and Sheldon Williams to Milwaukee for Hakim Warrick, maybe throw in money or whatever to try to get it done

warrick would allow us to match up with guys like josh smith considerably better

Good thing Rondo is not the GM. The thing about acquiring Hinrich is, he would not only be our backup PG, he could play alongside Rondo as well. Ray needs to see a big reduction in minutes and Kirk would definitely help with that.

I would pull the trigger on that deal. WE might have to send 2 2nds but I wouldn't let that hold the deal back.

However the best deal out there might be this. Per ESPN insider:
________________________________________________

Last week, we discussed the possibility of the Sixers swapping Andre Iguodala for Tracy McGrady's expiring $22.4 million deal.

And as ESPN's Chad Ford notes today in his chat, it's still a trade scenario that has legs. Ford also tosses Samuel Dalembert into the mix as another chip in the deal. Iguodala and Dalembert are making a combined $23.5 million, so it's a deal that could work. (Previously we've noted that the market for Dalembert is otherwise pretty dry.)

Obviously, this would be a salary-shedding-blow-up-the-team move by the Sixers brass. They've been looking to pawn off Dalembert's contract for a long time, and without Iguodala's contract, which still has another four years on it and pays him $12 million, $13 million, $14 million and a player option for $15 million in those next four years, they'd have some money to work with.

And with $22.4 million off the books after this season, the Sixers could be around $9-12 million under the salary cap this summer depending on where it lands, and would thus have the opportunity to try and land one of this summer's big-name free agents.

Chad Ford
Iguodala for T-Mac still in play

"The Sixers have been shopping Dalembert for two years. The Iguodala thing is new. I'm pretty skeptical they'd give those two guys away for T-Mac's expiring contract (T-Mac and AI on the same team ... wow). But I keep hearing enough rumblings about it that I think it has legs. If Darryl Morey can turn T-Mac into Iguodala ... I'm really impressed. That's a home run for the Rockets. As for Sixers fans ... a major disaster."

_____________________________________________________

Makes you wonder about a Ray, Scal, and Baby for A.I.2 and Dalembert swap. Dalembert's contract only runs one more year and Iggy makes the the team better defensively while giving the starting lineup some who can get to the line easily (and convert. Looking at you Rondo).

The thing is though, if the bulls were to trade Hinrich for expirings, they would trade him out west. They would only trade him so they could sign Bosh or Lebron in the summer, thus making the Celtics their competitors. There are plenty of teams out west that would trade expirings for Hinrich (i.e Lakers--farmar+morrison) that the bulls would much rather trade with.

yea just like if memphis was going to trade pau gasol for expirings they would move him east.... oh wait

just like if utah was going to trade their first round draft pick from this past draft they would move him out of their division at least right? .... damnit wrong again

anyway the lakers people have already said that the lakers dont want to take on hinrich's deal, im sure the bulls wouldnt prefer to move him to a team in conference, but its not the nfc east in the nfl or sox yankees, nba teams trade in conference all the time, because the fact is it doesnt matter as much in the nba becuase soo many teams make the playoffs that the likelyhood of actually playing against the guy is decreased

and no way would you use the same logic if this were a clippers player you wanted

If getting out from under Hinrich's contract is the difference between persuading Dwayne Wade to sign-on then Chicago will trade him to the first bidder. It could also clear the necessary cap space to sign Tyrus and/or Salmons. It's not a bad trade from their standpoint although I think Tony Allen still has some legal trouble pending in Chi city so that probably wouldn't work out too great for him.

Well,if the bulls dont at least win 2 games on this road trip,I expect them to move some one. They will be too far out of the picture.

When I read the title of the thread I was going to reply I'd rather trade Scal, Tony and Eddie to Chicago for Hinrich. So yeah, I am on board. I have been pushing this trade since the off-season.

Bulls fans seem for the most part to be on board as well.
