I don't think the Knicks are willing to do any favors for Boston. I believe Walsh is interested in package deals consisting of players like Jared Jeffries or Eddy Curry..... or like he said, someone of more value for just Nate. A good point guard would be nice.

If the trade were as described in the Twitter rumor, House + Walker for Robinson, I would approve. Since it's apparent that Doc has no intentions of playing Walker this season, the Celts are paying as a premium for 1/2 a year of Robinson over House, 1.5-2.5 years of Walker. Sits MUCH better with me than paying an unknown 4 year asset for a rental.

I think this is DOA and just old news being rehashed, that said if the package of Walker and House is at least interesting. Walker's contract is right in line with the league minimum maybe $20,000 more for next season so it would essentially be the same as a cap hold. But a 3rd team has to be involved to increase the money changing hands to make it work with Nate's BYC status.

It is pretty clear Nate has already told the Knicks to trade him to Boston, so even though he has to approve a trade clearly the Knicks would be comfortable talking to Boston about a deal and then let Nate decide if he will approve it. No need to present him or his agent with a hypothetical.

He is trash, you guys are by far much better keeping House. Why do you think Nate's in the dog house with Mike D? Nate's very immature and doesnt like to follow orders. He makes a lot of careless mistakes, and his maturity level is as high as 14 year old child and the same goes for his basketball I.Q as well.

**** that. How is Nate gonna help us? He's not a true PG. We need a pass 1st PG to go along with Eddie and Marquis.

not really.. we need scoring off the bench and some energy into the team, marquis can handle actual play making while nate mainly creates for himself off the wings... on d nate just switches to the 1 and quis to the 2

similar to what we would be doing with house except nate is a better player

So... What you're saying is that if Lakers make a serious push for him, you would completely denounce him.

The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams who have expressed some interest in New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson, league sources said. Robinson’s base-year status, however, makes it difficult for any trade and the Knicks are said to be reluctant to ship Robinson to an Eastern Conference team, further complicating the Celtics’ efforts to land him.

Robinson's biggest problem (I think he would admit to this) is that he walks with a chip on his shoulder. I don't know if he has a short guy inferiority complex but it's like he dares players to just come knock this chip off my shoulder. You don't need to be this way to succeed necessarily. But, apparently, he uses it to motivate himself. I mean there are point guards of undesirable height who've contributed to the league in recent years.

Eddie House 7.1/1.3/0.9 39% FG 37% 3PFG 17mpg

Nate Robinson 13/2.3/3.2 47% FG 38% 3PFG 23mpg

Of course a Laker fan would think we would be better if we just stuck with Eddie because he sucks.

There's a couple things about these trades that really you can never figuire in advance is that some players really want to play for the Celtics. Our front office treats Celtics very well, almost like family. To some players, like Daniels, Perk and Posie, that means a lot. DA can get them to play here at 60 or 70 cents on the dollar.

The other thing is DA's eye for future talent makes a draft pick far more valuable. DA gets role players routinely in the second round (Powe, Gomes and Davis). He gets stars in the middle of the first (Rondo, Jefffersen) and quality starters late in the first (Perk, TA and West).

These two value anomalies really make it dificult to anticipate how a deal like this could play out. Something might get done here, especially if Nate is motivated.

They just announced on the radio that Boston offered Giddens and a future draft pick consideration for Robinson supposedly three weeks ago. Unfortunately, the deal fell through when Robinson scored forty points against a team, I forgot.

If true, this contradicts the report that New York is seeking substantially more via a trade for him.

Why? Giddens + a future pick is crap. How is that a contradiction?

Source: C's offered Giddens and future considerations for Robinson

The Celtics offered J.R. Giddens and undisclosed future considerations to the Knicks for Nate Robinson three weeks ago, but talks came to a halt when Robinson had a breakout game against Atlanta.

Gary Tanguay of Comcast SportsNet and 98.5 The Sports Hub, quoting a source close to the situation, reports that the Celts made the offer for the 5-foot-9 guard towards or at the end of a stretch in which Robinson sat out 14 straight games in December. But then he played Jan. 1 against the Hawks and scored 41 points, which changed the landscape of the potential deal.

Giddens isn't anywhere near enough salary it would still have to be with House.

Never mind. It wasn't a good offer. Because it's unclear about the draft pick.
