I love eddie and his attitude but robinson is more of a true pg and can get his own shot. why wouldn't the knicks do this? If they can get more for nate then god bless them . I htink they've forgotten that Nate is difficult and a ball hog.

Nate is the biggest jerk east of Ron Artest (in the NBA), that said, I'd luv to have another thug on the team...so long as we're not in close games as the T's do cost us. :D

No one here seems to mention that this deal isnt possible. Nate Rob ia a BYC so he counts as a 2 Mill player for NY while he counts as a 4 Mill player for us. If we wont Nate it hs to be a three way, or part of a much bigger trade.

It's very possible.

Robinson, Landry to the Celtics for House and Walker. The Knicks use a trade exception to acquire Walker. Definitely works.

I think you're missing some nuances of the CBA. But since we've already explained them several times, I'm not going to repeat them.

The trade exception use is a single player for a pick or cash. That's it. It can't be used to balance
salaries in a bigger trade, or in a multi-player transaction. One player, for a pick or cash. Got it. The pick can be top 59 protected, meaning a team could just give a guy away.

That said, House HAS to be in or a part of any deal that returns Robinson to Boston.

Taking the fact that NY is looking to replace Robinson with a pass first true point and earlier this season tried to trade Nate to Memphis for Marcus Williams (only to have Nate veto the trade), I think we're looking at a 3 team trade between Memphis, NY, and Boston (if there's anything to these rumors). The principles would be Nate, House, and Williams, with minimum salary guys and picks thrown in here and there to make the #s work (or perhaps to sweeten things).

The rumored trade that Robinson turned down was reportedly Marcus Williams AND a 1st round pick (believed to be Denver's pick, which would be in the 20 range).

Nice work.

The biggest problem in this situation is going to be Donnie Walsh he is just a blood from a stone guy. Remember the Artest situation and the Al Harrington sign and trade it was just never ending wait on the same friggin trade proposal.

Nate's market is limited to teams that need him for the rest of the season there is almost no upside to a non playoff team or even a fringe playoff team because he is only rental with no Bird Rights and he would be renounced by any team trying to get under the cap. Then it comes down to contenders who have a need and expiring contracts that will make the deal work. The Lakers can do it but they likely have to take on Jefferies or get a 3rd team involved. CLE doesn't really need him and ORL is a maybe but they have 3 guys already. I just don't see a market.

The problem is that Robinson actually contributes to the Knicks chances of winning especially now that Chris Duhon appears headed for another 2nd half swoon. Unless Duhon someone recovers (no one knows) Robinson is the Knicks only reliable point guard. Offers where the Knicks get depth but lesser talent (which is kinda the case here) doesn't really benefit the Knicks unless that depth fills a position of need (which is really just a point guard right now) and even then Walsh wanted a 1st round pick (see the deal Memphis agreed to of Marcus Williams...a point guard but lesser player...and a 1st round pick). Eddie House isn't any answer for the Knicks (or any other team) at point (he's less of a point guard than Robinson is). Which is why the Knicks would be looking for both a guy that can help them now (Marcus Williams) as well as something for the future (Denver's 1st round pick). So Boston's package would have to be something similiar I'd imagine at the very least since, unlike Memphis, the Knicks are less prone to want Robinson in the Eastern Conference and given the general animosity between the Knicks and Celtic organizations in recent years. I'd imagine it would have to include both Giddens and Walker as well as a 1st round pick OR involve Jeffries. Walsh said that in an interview yesterday that he will not jeapordize their chances to win games now unless they either get talent for the future or financial flexibility (not spare parts that expire the same time Robinson does).
