Apparently Brewer is available for the right price. This is a guy I wanted in the draft a couple years back, he's 6'7, extemely athletic, and a very good defender with decent all around skills. TA's, Scal's, and Eddies contracts are all of similar value and are expirings, however any first we can throw in isn't going to look all that appetizing as they'll be late in the round. This is the guy I'd be looking hard at to upgrade the bench, he's got the length, strength, and agility to play a Posey-like role off the bench for our defense.
Any thoughts? I'm not sure how appealing a deal we can put together, but I see him as a great bench fit.

Re: Ronnie Brewer
Couldn't see us having anything Utah would want. We could maybe do something like Ray for Kirilenko and Brewer if Utah really wanted to get out from the last year of Kirilenko's contract, but that probably wouldn't be enough for them.

He'd be an o.k. bench guy, but what we really need is a backup small forward and point guard.

They are looking to trade him to Memphis for a reason which is that Memphis is under the salary cap and can take Brewer without sending back another player. Utah reduces it's luxury tax. Boston would not be an option.

I disagree. Brewer is legit and would look pretty good next to Pierce, imo.

That makes sense, they get a pick and cap relief rather than just letting him walk at the end of the year. The part I don't with that is Brewer is starting for them and playing 30 minutes a game, is Utah's financial situation that bad?

I guess so. I thought he was a core player for them, he is a pretty good player.

Re: Ronnie Brewer
i wish we could do a trade for ronny.
rondo-r.brewer and tony allen triangle would be my dream shooting mechanic team. They definetly would be watchable. hmm after that we need marion and chuck hayes to complete the team
watchhing that triangle would be more interesting than Allan ray-Ray allen-Tony Allen triangle (unfortunately,we never had a chance to watch them together)

That's probably why the deal hasn't gone down yet. They're probably already looking to make a move where they cut talent because they're a fringe playoff team at best with that talent and he is an expiring so they'd like to get something back for him, but he is too good to just give away for a late pick and cap relief. I only see the deal going down if Memphis at least offers their own pick.

You might want to note that I was high on his defensive contributions.
