Scal is out for a bit.........

separated shoulder............

BOSTON – Brian Scalabrine expects to miss nearly a week with a separated right shoulder, he told WEEI.com following the Celtics – Trail Blazers game. He did not play on Friday night and aims to return next Thursday against the Magic. Scalabrine initially suffered the injury on January 6 against the Heat while trailing Michael Beasley on a pick.

nothing good about a separated shoulder. I like Scal a lot on a personal level. (not guarding Dirk though)

Scal's been 'hiding' this injury for what, weeks, now? I mean, who hasn't seen him grimacing and rubbing his shoulder the past 5-7 games? It amazes me how players can 'hide' injuries by simply not saying anything about them, while also limping or grimacing their way around the court in front of 14,000+ people.

On a similar note, who noticed the partial limp KG developed late in the 4th? Didn't see how he got hit, but he clearly dragged his leg for at least 5 minutes. It seemed to clear up somewhat in overtime. Don't these coaches pay attention?
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

Would imagine he's not 100% and was playing on it sore out of necessity since the team was slipping so badly without him.

I distinctly remember that happening at the 5:07 mark because he starting hopping around on one leg and all I could think was oh ****, there goes the season.

I'm glad it wasn't so bad that he had to leave the game, but I don't think we're ever going to get a clear and truthful diagnosis of what's really happening with that knee anymore. I suppose as long as he's still playing, he's alright.

Yuhp...I saw that too. I didn't think it was anything serious because he has done this quite a few times this year...but dang..he seems so 'fragile' out there. Everytime he jumps, runs, falls, I just have a feeling he is going to break...kind of like Tony Allen...I hate that feeling man... :noway:

Celtics forward Brian Scalabrine, sidelined Friday with what's now being termed an acromioclavicular joint sprain, did not take part in Saturday's practice and reaffirmed that he will likely sit out until the middle of next week, missing Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Scalabrine is targeting a Wednesday return to practice and hopes to be available when the team plays a back-to-back in Orlando and Atlanta at the end of next week.

"AC sprains -- they go out and go back in," said Rivers. "I had one and, to this day, I'll be golfing and it will come out. And you just cant do anything for a couple days or a week. Sometimes it stays out and it can get worse, but usually it goes right back in. That's what we have to deal with. It's painful, I can tell you that. Scal's been playing with it for a couple games, and it's very painful to play with, you lose the urge to play quickly."

He had no trade value to begin with. The only value he has in trades is additional salary to make other deals work.
