Barbosa struggling with wrist pain, needs surgery

This injury is seriously screwing him up because he's not contributing at all. Seeing as how this season isn't really a promising one anymore, I hope they shut him down and let him heal up for next year.

Shut him down, see if he can reasonably come back for the end of the season. If not next year. Why trade Barbosa?!! When he is healthy is a great sixth man! The dude looks horrible because he wrist is dead. Can you think of a worse injury to a shooter than the wrist??

^^ i think a shoulder injury is the worst. mh, trade him for new players, we need a new look. we need someone who plays defense. and if dragic is improving the way he already does we have a total luxury in nash / dragic / lb / j-rich ...

we need a big or a defensive minded sg..

This season has been so disappointing. We had that lucky start which made everybody forget about the wholes in our roster but that's over.

At this point in their career Frye and Lopez are not starters on a quality playoff team. Richardson has no heart and I would have rather played a 54 year old Raja Bell over him.

This season is just painful to watch. There's no point in waiting till our players are a year older to fix what we've always known was broken. Either give Amare an extension or trade him away. If you have to, package him with Richardson, Barbosa and the rest of the team. If Sarver decides he doesn't want to make any moves and loses Amare for nothing I don't know if my heart or liver can take another season of this.

I personally will pass kidney stones and get the cronic runs. Hopefully the article that said Amare's agent is "cautiously optimistic" means we're trading him to a young team that sucks right now but might be better later. NJN, CHI, etc.

Paul Coro wrote:* Let's start the health report with Leandro Barbosa. More than his shot is ailing. That right wrist problem is worse than ever, according to Barbosa. And there's tangible proof. He had swelling that moved into his right hand Friday night, when he showed that he can only cock his wrist back about 30 degrees because of how stiff it is with the swelling and a cyst in his right wrist. Barbosa talked to Suns team physician Thomas Carter after the game and said he would prefer to have surgery in the offseason. In the meantime, he plans to have the area drained for the second time this season before the Suns play tonight. "It’s just hard," Barbosa said. "I’m trying but it’s tough because I can’t do anything to help my team. It’s my first time that I feel my shot’s like that." Barbosa has shot career worsts from the field (42.2 percent) and 3-point range (33.0 percent) and has experienced no change since being inserted into the starting lineup three games ago. Since then, he has gone 12 of 32 from the field and 4 of 17 from 3-point range.

That's a really good question. If the dude is injured, shut him down! We don't need him right now.

his guy was always open, doesnt matter if he his wrist is screwed up. u dnt need good wrist to play good defense. he got beat on picks ALL NIGHT. this wrist injury is just an excuse.these guys are pros and I cant believe ppl are giving him slack because his wrist is swollen or painful. suck it up barbosa.. u dnt need a fully functional wrist to play solid defense.

mh, this is realy getting strange - i am questioning some decisions made by gentry. the same goes in the bulls game. i´ve never seen a coach who substitutes 3 player in the 4th quarter after 6 min -
that is silly...

and it costs us the game. damn

I knew there had to be a reason why Barbosa has been so ****. Why doesn't the dummy just get surgery now so that he won't hurt us when he's in? I'd rather have him out again for a month because the only time we were really good was when Barbosa played (14-3) and was effective. Now he comes in, and sucks. Or starts, and sucks.

Why would Gentry even bother starting him if he knows the reason why he's having troubles are because of his wrist. Or maybe Barbs is lying and trying to give a reason why he sucks now?
