If he doesn't fit, but plays like a Paul Milsap-Dejuan Blair - then it's good value and we can always trade him for a better pick in the future. The odds of a late first turning out are not good, so at that point you need to take the players that are going to make it in the NBA.

Not that big of a rebounder, nor possessing their wingspan and ability to play decent defense. He's far more offensive-minded than either of those two were either. Guess what I'm saying is hell no to drafting Lawal in the 1st round at this point.

Also, I watched most of Clemson Georgia Tech last night, and Favors had probably his best game of the season. It could have been even better if not for some silly fouls, but I guess beggars can't be choosers.

Don't forget West Virginia @ Marshall... oh wait that's not on TV because ESPN decided to keep airing the same teams instead of showing the C-USA leader take on a Big East power. Maybe I can find a stream online.

He averages 14 rebounds per 40 minutes (.4 less than Love) and his wing span and standing reach are longer than Kevin Love's.

*face palm*
How could I leave out .net's #1 overall pick in 2011 (and #2 on their current big board) taking on Butler, Jones and Ebanks?

Oh yeah, because of the same BS you just outlined. Although it isn't as if West Virginia's been lacking airtime this season, I like watching Kevin Jones play and Whiteside's fun to watch as well.

8th best rebounder out of the possible 1st rounders, and Kevin Love finished the year with 1.5 more rebounds per 40mins... Lawal still has at least 10 more games against tough opponents which should continue to see his #s slide to make it an even bigger difference. Not the best comparison. Measuring out as Love did isn't really a compliment either - Love is just lucky he has "it", as well as a multitude of skills which make up for the lack of physical qualities compared to his NBA competition.

Out of those 8 guys, Lawal has the lowest win score, and the worst PPR - meaning he doesn't do much on the court compared to the others and is selfish. His play on the court matches those findings. When he's on, like at Duke, he's good for his team. Otherwise his value isn't really there compared to the other guys, which is why for Minnesota he's likely a worse fit than Craig Smith, and probably won't bring even that much value.

Late 1st for some other team, eh, probably a little bit of a reach, but whatever - happens every year. For Minnesota I think he does too little that the Timberwolves need, and his qualities overlap with the current players.

Dr.Krapinsky wrote:I'm coming around on Aminu. Two big games in a row against quality competition. My concern is his team is much better with him at the 4, but the same could be said about every SF prospect in the draft, Johnson, Harris, James, George, Robinson, Singler, etc.

That's actually my issue with Aminu--and not just that his team does better when he's at the 4, but that he seems more comfortable operating in the paint. He was amazing on the glass (can't believe he's only listed at 11 boards for last night's game because it looked like he was getting a hand on damn near everything), but I'm not sure he's got the get-up-and-go to play on the wing...

I think Aminu's like Josh Smith. He's athletic enough to make people think he could/should play SF, but it makes better use of his athleticism to play him at PF.

Elias Harris another nice game tonight

20 pts and 13 rebs, shot a high %.

In his last 5 games he's around 20 and 10. He doesn't shoot a lot of 3's but when he does he's pretty accurate with it, so that may even develop. He really crashes the boards hard I like that.

CH 9: Is there any one player ... no specific names needed ... in June's draft that would lead coach Kurt Rambis away from using the Triangle offense? Or is the Triangle the way you guys will continue to go beyond this season?

DK: The primary focus for us when evaluating players is their ability to a play up and down, full-court, fast-breaking style of play. We want players that have a wide array of basketball skills that allows them to play any offense, much less the triangle.

Not a great day for Turner. Tried to take over in the 2nd half and failed against a good team.

They do, he's just in street clothes due to sticky fingers.

Elias Harris with Another 22-7-4 on 8-12 shooting. He keeps getting better. Granted he's playing some easy competition.

Yeah I've always like him as a late 1. Givony doesn't like him for whatever reason.
