Doc prefers vets over younger players

I think he prefers player who can play and have a brain, as I just proved to you. I am sorry, but I have a hard time believe that Doc would sacrifice games because of someone's age. Scal plays because he knows his role and doesn't screw up. He might not be that good basketball wise, but he will be where he needs to be when he needs to be there. That is why he plays.

I just proved to you that Doc plays young guys. Rondo was the starting point guard in his 2nd year and they won the championship. Davis also played and contributed. So did Powe. Why? Because they were vets? No! It is because they could play and contribute.

We may not know, but Doc and Ainge do, so going on what they apparently know due to their actions, I would say it is safe to say he sucks as an NBA player.

They knew about Rondo,Gomes and Perk while they sat on the bench behind the likes of Telfair,West,Scal and Ratliff...right?

If you are going to try and make an argument, you should really try to know your facts first so you don't look silly. Rondo average about 23 minutes/game his rookie year. Telfair averaged 20 that same year. West did average 32mpg that year, but he also shared time at SG. And guess who got traded? Oh yeah, both West and Telfair. Now onto Gomes. He averaged 22 mpg as a rookie and a 2nd round pick. I would hardly say that was sitting the bench. Scal that season average about 10mpg. Again, you are incorrect. Perk is a different story. He came in as a high schooler who was young, overweight and really couldn't play basketball. I would say they have done right by him as he is now one of the best centers in the game. He wasn't even close when he came into the league. And for your example of Ratliff playing over him, well, Ratliff was in Atlanta Perkins' rookie year and in '06-'07, the Ratliff's only year with the Cs, he played in exactly 2 games and Perkins played in 72 with a 22mpg average. So, my fellow RealGM poster, I would say that what this all means is Danny and Doc know exactly what is going on and you do not.

Doc does prefer vets over young guys, but I think every coach does as well since their jobs could be gone very quickly! Doc played Raef and Blount over Al Jeff, because Jefferson didn't play defense, like Lafrentz and Blount were defensive specialists! Gomes played a because we were decimated by injuries and put up some good numbers so he kept playing! Rondo played because of injuries as well, West started the season with a hand injury and Bassy was a turn table on D and played well from the get go! Those were different times, now there is this win now mentality, which I like but sucks for the young guy who have to prove themselves!
