J.R. Suspended?

Post#1 » by J Smitty » Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:31 pm

http://twitter.com/BKDenverSports

Just ran into some well informed sources, J.R. Smiths act on the bench got tired and he's been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.

I guess that helps clarify his mysterious departure from the bench when he just walked off.

See ya bud, hope you find yourself in a good situation where you can get some decent minutes and opportunity. And I hope the value we get back for you isn't pure ass.

Every loss this year is JR's fault - said by GK later today.

It really has got to suck to be him. Improves his game, plays great in the playoffs and still can't be given the starters job. Instead the coach keeps hating on him till he finally cracks and now the coach can use that to justify hating on him more.

Karl has to be quite happy right now.

I'm less inclined to feel bad for him than I guess you guys are. He hasn't played well for much of the season, it's just that simple. He needs to learn how to better himself when he's playing poorly, rather than pulling stunts like this. Hopefully he's back soon, and Chauncey gets in his ear right away. We need him for the playoffs.

I dislike Karl as much as the next guy, but my patience for JR while watching the games right now is at an all-time low, so I can imagine the coach feels that, only a ton worse.

Certainly would be a ton worse since Karl couldn't stand him to begin with.

I'd like Karl to do that thing called coaching. JR was great last year, especially in the playoffs. He played well when he started along side Melo. Instead of giving JR the job of shoot it off the bench, I think he would be able to get more in the flow of the game and play better if he had a defined starting role that didn't involve him having to try and carry the scoring load.

Could be completely wrong, but we'll never know because Karl will never give him that chance. Being in Jail and the suspension most likely got JR off to the slow start though. And JR certainly isn't blameless, but its got to be frustrating to know your boss hates you and will come down harder on you when you make mistakes than anyone else. Tightens someone up, which isn't good for shooting.

GK has never liked JR, he's just tolerated the kid the last few years because of the offense that he provides. Now that JR is in a huge slump GK wont put up with him. JR took 5 3's in 12 minutes last night. He never attacked the hoop and he didn't play much defense.

GK he suspended Melo for insubordination last year after he refused to come out of a game so for him to be consistent he's got to punish JR for leaving the court and heading to the locker room.

I am certainly no fan of George Karl, but J.R. has got to realize what Karl expects out of him. I love J.R. and want him to succeed as much as the next Nugget fan but he has to mature. It's easy to do the right things when everything is going well. How do you respond as an individual when things aren't going well, I think that says more about a person.

Hopefully Chauncey is in his ear telling him what a great situation he is in. There is a reason Karl is so hard on him because of how talented he is. J.R. just needs to realize he has to bite his lip and be a professional. Take your frustration out, when you are on the practice court or during the game. Prove Karl wrong by your work ethic and working on your game, but doing something to get you suspended while you're already losing minutes is stupid. Don't even try to act like this isn't J.R.'s fault. This situation was easily avoidable.

Did you watch the game? One three doesn't count in the total, it was a 70 footer with time expiring. One was a bad shot, the others seemed good on kick outs. He wasn't just jacking bad shots.

No offense nutty but your post are getting repeative with everthing jr do is karl's fault. I don't like gk that much either and have never standed up for him but this year he's been pretty good with the rotation and he's not even playing ac anymore so what fault does he have?, were 29-14 which is pretty damn good.

Jr this year is struggling and he's been in much worse shooting games then 1-4 the game yesterday but what stupid mistakes and things he's done on the court over the season this year have caused the teams several wins just like how he sometime exploded and won the game for the nuggets(hawks game where he poured in 41). He's done more bad then good this season and as much as we need him to be that spark off the bench he's been shooting poorly and karl still let him shoot because he knows how valuable his scoring is.

This incident right here is all jr fault, he hasn't acted like a professional since he's been here, i think he's a bad influence on the team and sometime the teams plays dumb and he only compounds the mistakes with him on the court, i wouldn't mid trading him right now if we can get some value back. So nutty, take off your homer glasses for jr and put down those large hater goggles on karl and realize not everhthing is karl's fault like u make it seem to be.

Dumbo Dat Fan calls everyone he disagrees with "(Please Use More Appropriate Word)" and worse, he made me like George Karl.

But why make this whole thing public? It doesn't do any good to his value... damn.

But although his inconsistencies won't be missed, I do believe his passing ability can get us out of offensive stagnancy at times during a game. His passing and playmaking are what's consistent and can be counted on every single game.

I genuinely hope he gets it soon or late than never. We need him (his passing) this season. I hope we acquire a big without having to part with him.

Guy is absolute stud if he just attacks the rim, passes like a mid 1990s Penny Hardaway, plays 100% defense. Instead he fell in love with 3 pt shot.

Wow, a 1st grader could come up with a better insult than that. I've never called someone a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) for disagreeing with me. I've only called someone being (Please Use More Appropriate Word), (Please Use More Appropriate Word). Which you do a lot of.

I don't make everything out to be Karl's fault. And I did say JR wasn't blameless in this. But this situation was pretty much what was going to happen. JR isn't the most stable of guys, I'm just surprised he hadn't snapped sooner from Karl's mistreatment. I'm pretty sure we can all agree Karl has not treated JR fairly.

Pretty good with the rotations? Please. I will give him credit for playing Ty (although that is a no brainer too). But he has cost this team games by going to Allen instead of Balkman.

I doubt JR gets suspended.

With Melo out, we are going to need JR. And Karl wants to coach the ASG.

I did watch the game, you're right 1 of the 3's was a time expiring toss. He still didn't move much without the ball, just kinda hung out behind the line waiting for someone to pass him the ball. I doubt Karl would have pulled him if that's all he wanted him to do on offense.

lolololol

Get over it DDF, this is not 2005 or 2006 where GK don't give a crap or the players not responding to him. Most important is the players are responding to him and although GK can have stretches where he don't care, it's rare nowadays.

J.R. has a "the world is against me" attitude... as do most defiant young people. Because of the tragic accident, he now views the world as putting target on his back and can harm him anytime. He needs to get over the drama and start having a more positive outlook on life and he's going to be an absolute stud.

As long as he doesn't change his attitude, he's going to be drifting into inconsistent performances, criticisms from every direction, etc. What you put out, what you get.

Just like most young people who think they have matured, when they have not.

Both of you need to cut out the name-calling. This isn't first grade.

I don't understand why the team is handling this situation so poorly. Either you're suspending him or you're not, I've never seen something like this drag out.

Since when JR started alongside Melo last year in the playoff?
The only season he started more than 20 games in a season is 06/07
Last season is arguably his best season in Nuggets, and his role is the same as last season
How come it's all Karl's fault?

He just regresses,plain and simple
