OT: Banksy in Utah

Post#1 » by carrottop12 » Thu Jan 21, 2010 7:53 am

Apparently a few of his pieces have popped up in Park City and one in SLC in recent days. Could be a once in a lifeftime opportunity to see one up close in person. Check it.

I'm not going to pretend I'm cool and that I knew who that was, but his "work" looks pretty cool. There I go, using the word "cool" again, I suck...

I never got the Banksy hype. I'm sure most of the people I know do though, I'm also sure they won't shut up about it.

That would be cool, im a big fan. It is hard to say they are authentic these days, so many copycats. I see banksy copycats all over my neighborhood in chicago.

So I found this thing today, but it looked like it wasn't finished. Did something happen to it? It looked like it was the angel kid praying one.

It got sandblasted off already.

As much as it sucks, it's actually really funny to me considering the owner of that building basically just through away hundreds of thousands of dollars, not to mention the ability to have an amazing selling point for his building.

Having an original banksy on your wall is worth unmeasuareable amounts to people looking to rent out art spaces, skate/snowboard shops, clothing stores etc. What a jackass to do that. I hope he realizes his error.

I was thinking the same thing. Something like that would only attract business in an urban area, maybe he was sandblasting it and someone told him how much of a moron he was, so he left the head.
