That's because they're mostly a bunch of closet cases.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Al Jefferson isn't jealous of Kevin Love any more. He's moved on.

This thread just wouldn't be complete without some GAY LOVE SESSIONS!
GAY LOVE SESSIONS!
GAY LOVE SESSIONS!
I guess I wouldn't hate having Deng, but I don't really see his ceiling as a number 1 option. Same for Gay. How old is Butler? I feel he is too old and too inconsistent for this team. I do really like Iggy though, and I'd deal exp. and picks for him.

If Gay bought into the triangle and ball movement, he could be an unreal player.
Yes, Gay can create offense for himself....but is that really a must in the triangle offense? You don't really want isos in an offense predicated on ball movement. I think Deng is a better triangle fit.
I think it absolutely has to be. That is part of the reason it has failed in other attempts is because they didn't have a go to scorer and why Kobe and MJ were so successful in the triangle. Sometimes the triangle doesn't always get you a good shot, so in the last 7 seconds of the shot clock, especially in crucial situations, you give the ball to the go to player to create a shot.
The other reason why the Phil has been so successful with the triangle is because he doesn't exclusively use the triangle. On most possessions he uses it, but he can really run any offense he wants. A pick and roll, an iso, the triangle, etc. and it isn't strictly on the perimeter. Gasol, Bynum, and Artest/Ariza can create their own shot. It is about being flexible, not being tied down to one structure. I would trade for Deng, if we could get someone who could create for themselves at the 2, but they have to shoot the ball and attack the rim. Maybe Evan Turner is that guy, but you can't just assume we will be able to get him. There needs to be contingency plans.

The take on Deng is he is 24 years old, gets you 18 and 7 with great defense. He's currently shooting 41 percent from 3 point range, although he has taken only 40. Rudy Gay is a RFA and with all the teams spending money in the offseason, he will probably command at least 13 or 14M /year. So they are very comparable. Gay the better outside shooter, Deng, better defender and rebounder. Value-wise about the same.
He didn't say that he was a better scorer, he said Gay was the better outside shooter. Rebounding I am not too concerned about, because we already have 2 bigs that can control the glass and I think Kahn will add a third one. Gay will be in more of a transition role and this can also be covered with a rebounding 2, like Turner or Igoudala. Defense I am concerned about, but I think Rambis will be able to get him to buy in.

Re: Rumor: No One Untouchable
well there is a 6 page thread on the Knicks forum about trading Rubio. After my eyesight recovered from all the pain, I think I spied someone say if we threw in Cardinal and a pick, they'd do Rubio/Cardinal/Utah1st for Chandler/Jeffries. Seeing as both are potential All NBA 1st Team'ers and both DPOY candidates, and one is an MVP frontrunner, that solves all our problems I guess.
Back to reality... Deng's injury concerns are the trump I think. The Wolves have had a lot of players miss a lot of time with huge injuries. I don't think they can make an investment in a player KNOWN for being hurt at this point.

Re: Rumor: No One Untouchable
we could always try these 2 trades (dunno if other teams will accept though)
Wolves trade Jefferson/charlotte 1st??? for Wallace
Wolves trade Flynn/Cardinal/Blount for Iguodala
Wolves go with
C-Favors (our pick)
PF-Love
SF-Wallace
SG-Iguodala/Brewer
PG-Rubio/Sessions
Could Igoudala/Wallace work together in our system ???

100% certain that Sixers wouldn't do that Iggy trade.

Re: Rumor: No One Untouchable
Here's one idea I had for a trade.....
Wolves Get:
Amare Stoudemire
Suns Get:
Rights to Ricky Rubio
Ryan Gomes or Damien Wilkins
Brian Cardinal
Sasha Pavlovic
Ramon Session
This would real help out the suns bench and would give them some cap room in 2010 with Cardinal,Pavlovis and Wilkins coming off the books.Plus would have a solid back up in Sessions for Nash will Rubio is over sea.The also would get their future PG when he finally comes over.
The Wolves said of things this would give Kahn and Rambis a more uptempo team and bigger star power in Amare.Plus is a better fit at the center spot then Jeffferson.Which then would lead to this trade.
Bulls Get:
Al Jefferson
Mark Blount
1st Round Pick(UTA)
Wolves Get:
Loul Deng
Kirk Hinrich
This would give the bulls some more cap space for 2010 i.e their push for D-Wade and would give the bulls a nice young core of Rose,Jefferson,Noah..ect to build around and would make them a playoff team.
The Wolves would get a great two way player in Hinrich who could start at SG or come off the bench as a back up PG/SG as our six man.The addition of Deng would fianlly give us the young SF that we have been looking for.
Wolves line:
C-Amare Stoudemire
PF-Kevin Love
SF-Loul Deng
SG-Corey Brewer
PG-Jonny Flynn
then our bench would have Hinrich,Hollins,Wilkins or Gome...ect not the best bench in the world but we could retool it a bit in the offseason even tho are cap space would be less.Plus we would still have our 1st pick which should be a top three pick in the draft this year.
