Just filed to ESPN: Hornets trading CS Fullerton alumnus Bobby Brown to Clippers. Trade expected to be approved by league office Tuesday

Clips to send NOR conditional future second-round pick -- just like they did for Rasual Butler in the summer -- for my man @BBROWNsix

Not a bad move, hopefully he'll be able to help us out. I know JJ will be happy and we add another LA native to the team.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

The Hornets also sent Devin Brown to the Bulls for Aaron Gray, I guess something is going on over there.

They get out of paying luxury tax and get to collect $5 Million or so that non-taxpaying teams receive at the end of the season.

NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com that the Hornets have reached a verbal agreement on a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers that will send reserve guard Bobby Brown to the Clippers for a conditional future second-round draft pick.

A trade call with the league office to formally approve the deal is scheduled for Tuesday morning, sources said.

The Clippers, meanwhile, have capitalized on the Hornets' luxury-tax issues to fill another need in their rotation. Brown could compete for backup minutes at both point guard and shooting guard. The Clippers lost Sebastian Telfair for four to six weeks with a groin injury and Eric Gordon is dealing with a foot injury.

The trade would be a homecoming for Brown, who starred at L.A.'s Westchester High School and played collegiately at nearby Cal State Fullerton.

Is he even going to play? Maybe that means that they didn't think JamesOn Curry was good enough? I always wanted Bobby Brown, just for comedic purposes though. That would be funny if every time he gets subbed in, they play some of the real Bobby Brown's music videos on the big screen. They need to play "every little step", lol.

I don't like the idea of sending a 2nd round pick for Brown, he has been traded from too many teams already to be of much help for the Clippers. They should have just picked up another guy from the D league like Keith McLeod to fill in while Telfair is out.

I'm sure it's a heavily protected 2nd round pick and the Hornets will never see the pick. I don't mind this move, the Clippers need another option at PG and Bobby Brown is more of a combo guard.

Yeah pretty much.
I don't think we'll give up a pick and help them out financially for a guy like Brown.

BTW: As far as i know he's an undersized sg that loves to shoot the rock. Hopefully this helps us some at the back up guard positions.

Nice pickup with Telfair on the shelf for all those weeks and Gordon probable @ best for future games. We need to do what ever it takes to be @ or over .500 by all-star break.

That's what I'd like to know as well. Once we waived and signed Curry we refilled the 15th spot. Perhaps this will occur after his 10 day contract is up?

Edit - Or we could just completely waive Curry before his 10 day contract is up like the wiretap says.

The Los Angeles Clippers today acquired guard Bobby Brown from the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for a 2014 conditional second round draft pick and cash considerations. In a related move, the Clippers released guard JamesOn Curry from his 10-day contract.

Brown, 25, has appeared in 25 games for the Hornets this season and is averaging 6.6 points and 2.1 assists in 14.9 minutes per game.

Yeah I missed that too. Sucks for Curry, I was looking forward to seeing shooting some 3's. It sounds like Brown is suited for the transition game and not such a great distributor in the half court, but at least it seems he's a capable three point shooter from what I've read. It will interesting to see if he can get on the court and spread the floor. Something Mardy and Bassy can't do off the bench.

That's rough for Curry. Bobby Brown seems like a decent pickup though. I am interested to see how he will run the point in the NBA.

I wouldn't say he never had a shot. He did play defense for like 9 seconds at the end of the 3rd quarter against the Celtics.
