Jazz Players most likely to get trade?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Tue Jan 26, 2010 5:47 am

CJ Miles and Korver have to be the players to be traded. CJ has reasonable contract and talent but clearly losing minutes to Matthews. Since the Jazz need to save a little more tax money, CJ has to go and likely with Korvers expiring contract. Clearly, the Jazz could use a back up center and can get someone especially if they throw in the Nyk pick.

With the current winning streak, you keep Boozer and AK-47 bc they are playing that well. I give props to KOC for keeping Boozer as that has worked out much better than expected.

Possible CJ/Korver trade possibilities
1) Korver/CJ for Camby (would likely require the Jazz to include NYK pick)
2) CJ/Kosta for Tyrus Thomas
3) CJ/Korver/Brewer/Kosta for Prince and Ben Wallace (maybe have to add NYK pick)
4) CJ/Brewer for Battier
5) Korver/Kosta for Jeff Foster
6) CJ/Korver/Kosta for Mark Blount and Pavlovic
7) CJ/Korver for Brendon Haywood and Stevenson

Korver's expiring contract has alot of value and if you want a good back up shot blocking big it will take alot more than CJ plus additional salary allows the Jazz to get a better big. Id rather keep Korver but he would have to be the one to go with CJ to get decent talent big back to help the Jazz in their playoff run.

That's actually the only reasonable trade Toledo has ever posted.

Honestly, I wouldn't trade anyone right now with the way we're playing.

Camby is the guy I want as he can help greatly against the Laker and Nuggets size advantage versus the Jazz.

Ive wanted Camby on this team since the day he got that 20/11 game vs the jazz (rebounds/blocks)

I think he would do well playing here but he wouldnt want to be backing up Mehmet Okur...and yes, i do think Sloan would start Okur over Camby any day.

People, especially Mr. HolyToledo really fail to understand how trades work. When teams each have some thing the other want then it is possible. In order to trade a player not only must they have to have something you want, they have to want what you have to offer back. None of these trades any of you people want to have happen make any sense to the other team. You are so used to a random number generator determining the likely hood of a trade on a video game.

I can see letting CJ go but why Korver? He has been one of the most efficient players on the team in limited minutes. He's not great defensively but he's not as bad as advertised either. We desperately need his shooting, and with his wrist healed he's been shooting much better. We don't need our slow center to be our designated 3 point man.

I'm not a fan of all the Korver hatred going on.

I agree about Korver. Can't let how well Matthews is playing let you think that Korver is all of a sudden expendable.

Korver is still are best three point shooter, and can give you very good minutes whether it be in short stints, of if he has to fill in long term. Korver allows the Jazz to mix line ups more than Matthews does, and for that reason I hold onto him.

Well, CJ obviously broke my heart; back in time I was all for matching OKC offer... what a dumb I was!
Right now Miles is the odd man out... my 8 year old child relizes... there's clearly a reason for that horrible look in his face on the bench...

Clearly, Booz is the most likely to be traded. He makes a lot of money, he's expiring, and he's playing real well. Chicago, Orlando, Miami, and San Antonio are among teams that need him badly for the playoff run.

If Jazz wouldn't deal him in the summer, they sure as hell aren't dealing him now. I can almost guarantee Booz will be with the Jazz through the end of the season.

The best choice Holy toledo gave was Kosta/Korver for Jeff Foster! we save 300, 000 and get back foster for next year. The jazz have choices next year with expireings on Kirlinko, Okur, Price, and team decisions on Brewer and MIles. This way the jazz re-sign Boozer and get rid of Okur and keep Foster and find another center or re-sign Fes. Price could play some shooting guard if needed and gaines can play some point.

Williams/Price/Gaines
Brewer/ Mathews/Price
Kirlinko/Miles/Mathews
Boozer/Milsap
Okur/Foster/Fes

Now all we need are those pictures of the Indiana GM with that tranny prostitute and we can make that trade happen.

The only thing I see in my crystal ball is a salary dump to get under the tax.
I do not see any of the main guys going anywhere.
CJ is the probable looser in a salary dump.
AK and Boozer are playing outstanding ball right now.
I think the Jazz will TRY to resign both.

CJ Miles to Memphis for Sam Young

Save about 2.9 Million. That's the only team and the max amount the Jazz can dump. The 110% Rule won't be enough to get under the tax and neither will this trade.

mm i'd actually be for that.. looking at his contract status, it's basically near fesnko cheap.. with a team option I think..

Sort of a giving up on CJ move or keep him if you think he can improve more, but that would save $$$ for Matthews/Korver/Boozer resign.

I don't see this any more. I'll take a page from Chad Ford's book and say there's a 98% chance the Jazz don't trade Boozer this season.

All along I think the Jazz's plan has been to see where the team is at near the trade deadline and deal with Boozer accordingly. With the Jazz currently in 4th place and playing well I don't see any reason to trade him. He's been the best player on the team this year.

The Jazz can still re-sign him if it makes sense OR they can do a sign-and-trade. I see virtually no reason to trade him now. Furthermore I doubt the Jazz trade either Okur or Millsap before the offseason, but I could see either getting dealt over the summer if the Jazz re-sign Boozer.

....

If I'm the Jazz I'd look to dump CJ for straight tax relief and I'd try to sell the Clippers on a Korver for Camby deal. It's not that I don't like Korver, but I think the Jazz would get more benefit out of Camby for the next 40 games.

....

The way I see it there are a lot of NBA teams who have guys on expiring contracts. Many of them are trying to get "something" for them before they lose them to free agency, but so far it seems like most of the offers that have been leaked are terrible. Unless that climate changes we may not see nearly as many trades as some have been predicting.
