Save about 2.9 Million. That's the only team and the max amount the Jazz can dump. The 110% Rule won't be enough to get under the tax and neither will this trade.

mm i'd actually be for that.. looking at his contract status, it's basically near fesnko cheap.. with a team option I think..

Sort of a giving up on CJ move or keep him if you think he can improve more, but that would save $$$ for Matthews/Korver/Boozer resign.

Why would Memphis do this? Sam Young looks like an NBA player and CJ looks like a D-League lifer.

This might actually make sense for Indiana. Their salary is at $64M next year. That's a lot for a lottery team. This trade would essentially clear Foster's $6M off the books. I don't even think you'd need to give them Koufos if you didn't want to.

They may be able to unload Troy Murphy to Cleveland for Big Z, in which case they may not have as much pressure to slash salary.

The downside to this for the Jazz is that it makes it more difficult to re-sign Boozer.

I have a feeling about Boozer staying in SLC... he's been good for the Jazz this season...
