Boozer gone for sure!

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Tue Jan 26, 2010 6:45 pm

Chad Ford says Boozer leaving the Jazz for sure this summer.

Mark (Vancouver)

Carlos Boozer pleaded with the front office of Utah to not trade him. Any chance he doesn't leave in the summer?

Chad Ford (1:42 PM)

I think he's gone. 98 percent sure. However, given how well Utah has played these last few weeks I do think the chances are higher that the Jazz won't trade him at the trade deadline.

Attributing percentages of positivity to future events is ridiculous, especially considering all the unkonws that will play a role in this decision.

Yeah, and Boozer was definitely opting out last summer.

And there was no way the Jazz would/could keep Memo, Millsap, Boozer and Korver.

Unless Chad Ford has a time machine this is meaningless speculation.

98% sure is not 100% sure. You haven't even interpreted the quote correctly.

The question is who wants Boozer. I think the Jazz have a good shot at resigning him if they want.

Well if he can finish with 20/10, and continue to play hard, and the Jazz can keep home court advantage for the playoffs, Boozer's stock will be pretty high.

He will still only be a second tier FA at best.

It will be interesting to see what kinds of deals Bosh, Amare and David Lee get. Those will be Boozer's reference points when he's looking for a new contract.

Lee and Boozer will be Free Agent Peers. I think that makes New York a less likely destination as they would likely rather just keep Lee. Bosh and Stoudemire's positions won't be known until after the deadline. If one of them gets traded to a team that would likely retain them then Boozer will be more highly sought. If they stay on teams that have less of a chance to keep them then Boozer has less options. If Bosh and Stoudamire both sign with teams other than the ones they are on or New York, then Boozer will resign with Utah for sure.

Stoudamire in Chicago
Bosh in Miami

That's the combo for Utah to keep Boozer. He could replace either if one of those players does something else.

98% sure is not 100% sure. You haven't even interpreted the quote correctly.

Personal attack deleted Your argument is 98% percent is not 100%. Very strong argument by a weak minded person. Chad Ford is guaranteeing he is gone this summer, simple as that. I was surprised by that prediction because I dont think Boozer's market will be that strong this summer and this year has proven that the Jazz need him in the lineup. The Jazz should keep him and maybe trade away Millsap and/or Okur.

No he isn't, because 98% is not a guarantee, is it? And please calm down.

What reasons do we have for putting any stock in Chad Ford's prophetic powers anyway?

Keep the personal slanders to yourself, toledo. You have done plenty to cast doubt on all posts you make on this site. Nobody is a moron for not believing you.

There's no reason to measure Boozer contract by Lee's one. Boozer is a proven player in a playoff (WC runner up) while Lee put up numbers in a lottery team in the weak East.

The main difference I see between Lee and Boozer from my own perspective is that Lee is an overachiever while Boozer is an underachiever. It doesn't seem to take a lot to get Lee fired up, but his ceiling is lower than Boozer's. That is the reason I think it is difficult for some people to see one player being better than the other, but I think Boozer is clearly the better player with much more potential.

Just a thought...
