Or, about 13% more in total. Right there alone, the Ws should basically get a 13% bump in basically all per game stats. Just based on the number of possessions. But that means NOTHING in the scheme of things.
A foolish person would look at the Points Per Game and see that the Ws score an extra 8 points over the Celtics and assume that they are a superior offensive team, but really... they just have more possessions to work with. Celtics have a higher FG%, higher Points Per Shot and higher adjusted FG%.
Now, that's just for teams... on an individual level, it gets even worse.
Take Monta. As stated, the guy shoots 22.7 shots a game. That's among the highest rates in NBA history. Of course he is gonna put up a high scoring average! And in that system, it will also be accompanied by a host of high per games stats on everything from rebounding to steals. But you don't hear Warriors fans pushing his stats in regards to Points Per Shot, or Assists-to-Turnovers or Defensive WIn Shares. And with good reason, as he is poor at all of those things. But since he plays on a team with no accountability on either end of the floor, you guys are gonna praise him for being a ballhog turnover machine that gets burned defensively because he is always gambling for steals?
Shoot... I'm not even done. Look at what happened once he got hurt and all those shots went to other players. Their scoring averages went up! Imagine that!
Uggghhh... STILL not done. You want another example? Take Biedrins and his rebounding. What did he grab, 11 boards a game last year? 4th in the league? Awesome. Now factor in that 13% jump he got in over many teams like Boston. Then factor in that he plays alongside 4 midgets and gets a big boost in his production there. Then factor in that he was allowed to crash the offensive glass whenever he wanted (get back on defense? LOLOL). When you do all that, you should end up in a place where he was NOT the 4th best rebounder in the league.
Just saying. There's a reason you guys are pushing meaningless stats at the same time you are counting the ping-pong balls.
You know what is awesome about rooting for the Celtics? Stats don't matter. We put 5 guys out there who buy into a team concept and play defense.
Give Ray Allen those 22.7 shots a game and he will give you 26 a night, believe that.
