NET PER is Your PER minus the PER of the man you are guarding at the time.
The more minutes played, the more reliable the number.
I personally feel that it is the cruelest stat for evaluating players; rather heartless;
subtracting something every time you miss a shot, commit a turnover or foul;
and minusing you every time your man scores or your man grabs a rebound or gets an assist.
+08.4 Kevin Garnett *********** 922 Minutes
+07.2 Paul Pierce **************1289 Minutes
+06.2 Rajon Rondo ************ 1461 Minutes
+03.0 Kendrick Perkins ******** 1204 Minutes
+02.4 Tony Allen ***************** 388 Minutes
+02.3 Ray Allen ***************** 1494 Minutes
+01.0 Eddie House ************** 680 Minutes
-00.3 Marquis Daniels ********* 386 Minutes
-00.6 Glen Davis **************** 218 Minutes (not a lot of minutes, # could change greatly)
-01.4 Justin Giddens ************ 98 Minutes
-02.4 Rasheed Wallace ******** 914 Minutes
-06.4 Sheldon Williams ******** 430 Minutes
-15.6 Brian Scalabrine ********* 388 Minutes
-18.5 Billy Walker *************** 15 Minutes
It will be intersting how Glen Davis performs against the upcoming tall lines of the
Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, Fakers and Washington (Brendon Hayward, Jevale McGhee).
Some of the NET PERs for possible Celtic trade targets follows:
+04.6 Nate Robinson ********** 500 minutes
+03.6 Monta Ellis ************* 1721 Minutes
-00.1 Mike Miller ************** 425 Minutes
-00.2 John Salmons ********** 1408 Minutes
-02.7 Ryan Gomes *********** 1075 Minutes
-03.9 Kirk Hinrich ************ 1091 Minutes
In terms of trade cost, Nate Robinson requires a multi-player trade to offset his BYC status,
however, if the other player comes from one of the other 28 teams,
then the only Celtic players that could go to the Knicks for Nate are either
Marquis Daniels OR Tony Allen.
Gomes could possibly be had for Scalabrine + a First Round Pick;
Mike Miller would require Scal + Tony + Williams + Giddens.

Re: Celtics NET PERs thru Sunday, plus trade target NET PERs
Rondo's net PER has slipped some from earlier in the year because bigger stronger PG are simply abusing him. I wonder what Doc can do to help him out. Still he has been stellar on the offensive side of the ball..
