Simple Portland Trade

Trade ID #5410940

Scal
Shelden

for

Steve Blake

We get a point without giving up a lot

They get an expiring and a big, which we know they need

Maybe we add a 2nd? I think it's simple and easy

I would rather just sign lue to a 10 days contract and see if he could contribute.
Blake isn't a point, he only played well b/c Roy (and now Miller) did the ball handling and playmaking.

I really like this trade but I don't think Portland would do it. They love Blake.

i wouldnt mind that trade at all,

what about this similar deal: scal, eddie, and big baby to milwaukee for luke ridnour and hakeem warrick, id even throw in a pick to try and get it done

this trade will solve two problems

1. our obvious backup point guard dilemma
and
2. gives us a versetile big that can guard athletic 4's and big 3's

Portland doesn't do this in a million years.

If they were a normal team, they'd consider it, but they do love Blake there. He'd be a decent fit on our bench too.

Portland's front office is notorious for WAY over-valuing their players over the last couple of years. We'd probably have to offer Ray Allen to get a role player like Blake. To get someone like Aldridge we'd have to offer our starting 5.
