I should also give you an update on my current team and where I stand:

PG - Ty Lawson - Almost untouchable, unless you really wow me (Chris Paul wow's me...), he's 22, a true point guard and the future of this team...

PG - Royal Ivey - A veteran backup on a minumum contract, worth nothing to you and nothing to me, open to offers but most likely filler in any deal.

PG - Sundiata Gaines - a raw prospect on a tiny deal, you can have him if you're giving me some value. Has impressed IRL with Utah after his D-League call-up.

SG - Dahntay Jones - $2.5m per year for good D, 45% shooting for 12ppg. Not bad, show me something better and I'll listen.

SG - Richard Jefferson - My scorer off the bench, despite being perceived as overpaid he's shooting better than any year since 2006, albeit taking 5 less shots a game. Will not shop for junk, but will listen to offers for a more natural SG

SF - Rashard Lewis - Overpaid, yes, but doesn't detract from the fact he's the 2nd option for the current NBA runners-up. Great shooting range, probably worth more to me than you.

SF - Austin Daye - another player who could be the future of my team, that doesn't mean he's untouchable, but I'd want a rotation player and a good 2010 1st round pick to trade him.

PF - Lamar Odom - 10 RPG in 30 mins means he's one of the best rebounders in the league, good veteran to lead the young guys, again probably worth more to me than to you, so unless you wow me he's hard to get.

PF - JJ Hickson - quite a raw talent but improving, only available for a good 1st rounder and PF replacement.

C - Andrew Bynum - practically untouchable, as I regard him as the best upcoming Center in the league.

C - Hamed Haddadi - big big-man, in my rotation, but would listen to offers of a serviceable replacement and pick if you like him.

C - Eddy Curry - umm
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Why do people post these "updates" if they're just "my team is so much better than yours blah blah blah..."

I think it's helpful to get their perspective on their players. I just keep in mind that they're inflating the values of their own guys and trying to get everyone to see them in the best possible light because that's the nature of the game... unless it's Eddy Curry. In that case you just have to admit that he sucks.

I don't mind the premise of the updates but just saying stuff like "you can get him if you give me something better" is so redundant.

Hedo can be had for a younger, better, cheaper player. Preferably an all star on a rookie deal.

Its not unreasonable to say "I won't trade _____ unless its in a deal for a better player".

And aren't you the guy who wants a superstar center or pg for Melo?

Yes, but that doesn't decree that the player is better than Melo.

I'd say it decrees that the player is more valuable than Melo, unless you are using an extremely loose definition for the term "superstar".

You don't think Melo is a superstar? Who is then?

All of my players are available for better, younger, cheaper, and more talented players. Hit me up at bcortell@yahoo.com

Edit: Oh man, just saw the posts above me. What a coincidence.

Alrighty my teams set and I'm no longer actively pursuing trades. Will still respond to offers, but I'm content.

Right, but I'd still take any superstar point guard or center over him.

To me there is pretty much only one of each, perhaps 2 point guards.

So, uh, lol to you....I guess.

I do. But I believe a superstar C or PG is more valuable than a superstar small forward, and considerably so.

i agree with snakebites, and putting names out there would make it a lot more clear. superstar c? the only one out there is dwight howard. superstar pg? you're talking chris paul. neither should be traded for carmelo anthony.

lol

can I play?

Sahsha/Luke/Maxiell for ANY superstar.

Would prefer LeBron but would be willing take on Dwight or CP3, maybe even Melo.

Oden on the block and close to being moved. Get your final offers in now.

Batum back with 16 on 7-9 FG, 2-2 3pt in his 2nd game. Playing nice D on everyone from Deron to AK.

I realized its harder to trade for younger guys since most teams went rebuilding mode. That said Ray Ray, PP and KG are close to untouchables and Rondo and Perkins are available for players that will help my team contend.
