Boozer Leaves with Calf Injury
Can't believe none of you guys are talking about this
From Locke:
Obviously, the biggest concern is Carlos Boozer. The word is that he has a strained calf. When more information becomes available we will have it for you here as well as at 1320 K-Fan and on my twitter account @Lockedonsports
So here we go again? With this guy's history how many games do you think he'll miss? I for one think Boozer has been huge for the Jazz this year and if he goes down I worry this team will drop in the standings in this very crowded, competitive western conference.

I think he misses a week max unless this becomes similar to his infamous hammy

He'll be back in 2 or 3 games. Not a real issue, and Millsap needs a jumpstart. Might actually be a good thing.

He went to the locker room on his own strength and didn't seem to struggle THAT bad at it. Would be nice if he's ready for friday, but even then, Millsap had a great game, inserting him in the lineup with Okur will have the two step up, since for some reason Okur is much better without Boozer, and you can expect 18-20ppg and 10-12rpg for Millsap as a starter.

How convenient for Booz. He doesn't want to be traded this season as to maximize his play and therefore contract. Good timing for an injury to possibly deter teams from trading for him.

LMAO, Why the hell would Booz want to be injured during his contract year? Regardless of who he plays for, he's going to be able to play well.

Well, at least this couldn't have been timed any better. If it is a quick heal, we play Sacto at home tomorrow, which is winnable without him and DWill, and don't play again until Monday. If it is longer term, we have the all-star break to help with that. I just hope it doesn't become long long long term like the infamous hammy.
I seriously think this injury is just to remind us all that we are Jazz fans with Boozer on our team. If this can save us some moolah in resigning him, that would be great, but then it also brings back the problem of him being brittle.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Because if he is traded to another team his stats are going to drop considerably. Especially if that team doesn't have a quality point guard. Our system is designed for PF's.
It won't be a significant injury. It'll be, like most have said, a week at max. Which is a good portion of the time left before the trade deadline. He'll come back from the injury good as new, but it could be just enough to turn people off to the risk of trading for him now.
Missing a few games is nothing over the course of the year and it won't hurt his summer contract, but trading for a currently injured player rarely ever happens.
I'm not saying that's what is happening, but with Booz it wouldn't surprise me. Honestly, if anyone in the league were to pull a stunt like that, would Boozer not be in the top 5 most likely? I'm sure Cavs fans would say so.

No may Boozer lets this keep him out for very long. He knows he has to play. Its his audition season, whether it be for a extension from the Jazz or someone else he knows he has to play. That being said I say he is out no longer than a week, being back by the Nuggets game. That being said, I actually think he just misses the Kings game and is back by Monday.
P.S. I reserve the right to change my opinion pending results from the MRI scheduled today.

Tell them to shove off. I hate those things, they make me constipated.
It's not like I'm saying we faked the moon landing! I'm saying that this injury seems convenient for a player who has time and again shown that the bottom line is his only line. After Booz said he didn't want to be traded this year, I joked with my buddy(the talking squirrel) about the idea of Booz feigning an injury to decrease the likelihood of a trade. Not that I disagree with him on that, but he has shown a precedence for making a buck at whatever price.
p.s. Obama is a spy for Kenya! and don't eat bacon cuz you'll get swine-flu!

Re: Boozer Leaves with Calf Injury
Some people must be drinking Kennecott water if they think Boozer is going to fake an injury--as the team moves into 4th in the west playoff standings...and he is putting together a season worthy of all-star consideration. The last thing he wants is to remind everyone about how much he has been injured over the past several years. That said, I don't expect him to be out long due to the reports. At least I hope not. He has been having a fantastic season.
