If it's so entertaining then why are you on a NBA forum?

He didn't say NBA was not entertaining, he only said Euroleague is more entertaining.

Mr. Savage wrote:currently wathcing olympiakos vs. cja laboral and man...the euroleague is so much better to watch.

the refs actually let them play, there are no star calls at all, the play is very physical. also there is so much more ball movement, players play more unselfish and move so much more off the ball.

the nba compared to that is just isolation basketball, simply because it leads to touch fouls being calls. just give the ball to your star player and let him initiate contact then hope for a whistle which is blown 80% of the time.

watching both leaugues it is hard to argue against the euroleague being more entertaining, simply because the rules and the refs encourage a more fundamentally sound and especially FLUID game without nearly as much interruptions as in the nba.

the nba can sometimes be so boring because it is so much isolation and so much grinding and subsequent bailing out by the refs rather than ball movement, off ball move ment by players and a healthy dose of physicality.

European basketball is entertaining but to say it's a better product than the NBA is a complete joke. The NBA is faster, quicker, more skilled, bigger, etc. etc. etc.

I'm not really sure what you're lol'ing at here. It is way more physical in those leagues then the NBA.

OK, look. How can you say it sucks with such a small sample size, then? Were they eating each others' dick on the court? It should be a very rare instance.

Nope, European is way more physical with the way they let you defend perimeter players and hit players as they cut through the paint. Leads to a lot more pick and rolls. What most people ignore though is that they let you be more physical with your low post defense in the NBA. When they got rid of the hand check rules for defending perimeter players in the NBA, they added the arm bar rule to make it easier to defend the post. So if a player has his back to you, you can have a forearm brace and a flat hand in their back, and you can push the **** out of them without it being a foul.

Actually you are wrong.
Most Euroleague teams play from 65-80 games in a season, because they have the Euroleague, the domestic league, the domestic cup, and some of them play in some other league like the Adriatic league, VTB league or the baltic league.

And yeah the NBA's biggest setback are the looongg timeouts, and there are so frigging many of them its just crazy.

Also IB4 this thread gets moved to the international board and dies a slow and lonely death.

Thats just not true. For eample i will give you Maccabi Tel Aviv who is from Israel. They play 30 games in the Israeli League. something like 6 games in the Israeli Cup. The Eurolegue is 10 games for the first round. 6 for the secdond and 2 more to the ship. so thats 20. All in all you get 56 games tops. and you have breaks between each game. you dont play more then 2 games a week.

And the example you chose is a team that is the exception to the rule lol.
Partizan last year:
19 Euroleague games
30 Adriatic league games
21 Domestic league games
6 cup games
Total:
76 games

A Spanish team for example Barca:
23 Euroleague games
44 Domestic league games
4 cup games
Total:
71 games

A Lithuanian team for example Rytas:
32 Domestic league games
15 Eurocup games
23 Baltic league games
Don't know the exact # of cup games but probably around 3
Next year they will also join the VTB league so that is an extra cca. 10 games
Total:
73 this last year, around 83 next year

A Greek euroleague team PAO:
23 Euroleague games
3 greek cup games
39 domestic league games
Total:
65 games

Sure some teams play around 50-55 games per season, but the best teams usually play from 65 to 80.
