Cole Aldrich dominates the paint and hits a halfcourt shot:

Dude absolutely toys with the competition here. Man amongst boys.

Memphis vs Marshall. I was hoping to be able to watch it, but couldn't. At a glance from the box score looks like Elliot Williams (my fav) and Whiteside (BEAST!) had wonderful games. Keep an eye out for these two.

Nowhere near as good as watching the game yourself, but here's my Whiteside wrapup that I wrote on KFAN http://rubechat.kfan.com/viewtopic.php? ... 1#p1564431

IMO Aldrich and Love would make a great frontcourt duo....

If Aldrich can transfer his low post scoring to the NBA I'd agree.

Meh. Neither has go to moves on offense. Neither can guard quicker PF's. I'd like a player that can prevent David Lee from dribbling from the 3 point line and slamming it home.

I think it could work.

Aldrich/Jefferson/Love or Aldrich/Love/Pekovic (if Jefferson gets traded one day)....doesn't sound too bad

Aldrich has quicker feet on D than both Al and Love, but he's more valuable under the rim blocking shots and bodying up bigger longer and more skilled players than David Lee.

Well, Love can't protect the paint, so he's going to have to work on finding a way to stay in front of guys. Aldrich wouldn't be on the perimeter guarding quicker PF's, but he'd actually present a challenge around the paint.

Aldrich is a decent fit next to either Love or Jefferson. He does a good job using his bulk (it's weird seeing how much he's bulked up. First time I saw him play he was a 6'9" beanpole at Jefferson) and length on the defensive end, and on the offensive end he's got good touch around the basket and can knock down mid-range shots. He's got the framework for a decent low block game, does a good job establishing position, and he's pretty adept at passing out of double teams. He's not a terribly exciting pick, but he's not a bad fallback plan if we miss out on Wall/Turner, and he's got a good-to-great work ethic.

Aldrich is basically Kevin Love, except 6'11-7'. He isn't the rebounder Love is, but he's better on defense and a better athlete. Both are great outlet passers, have a good jumper(Love's is quite abit better) have solid post games, and are good ft shooters.

Hasn't Love been called our best player here by some posters...?

I like Aldrich if we suffer some lotto misfortune, or as a target to trade up from the CHA pick for, but I don't think Love is a good comparison other than that they're both pale, throw outlet passes and work hard. Aldrich should make his presence felt on the defensive end much more than Love, and might have the defensive chops to anchor a D while staying responsible on the boards and making it tough on the guy he's guarding. Love doesn't bring that to the table. Aldrich has a promising but unrefined offensive game, showing decent touch around the basket, good passing, and the ability to step out and knock down a mid-range jumper. He'll be best served to develop his back to the basket game more, while Love's potential probably lies as a face-up/high post PF. Aldrich is more Bogut than Love. I think he could complement either Love or Jefferson fairly well.

Cousins has 4 and 1 chances in 9 minutes.

5-5 shooting, with rebounds, and steals.

He just needs to work on cutting down fouls.

His moves around the basket are great, uses pump fakes, up and unders. He's legit!
