What would it take for us (ATL) to get D. Blair?

Post#1 » by mattlanta » Thu Jan 28, 2010 12:15 am

Let's think to the offseason because I don't think the Hawks would want to trade any of their pieces right now with their chemistry going on and all... but next year, do you think the Hawks would be able to acquire DeJuan Blair?

Not saying the Hawks fans want this but I'm just saying it's something I've always thought would be a good fit for our bench so I was thinking if we could give up both our first and second round draft picks this year if it would be worth it to you guys... I don't know probably not.

Not gonna happen only for draft picks. ATL's draft picks are not very appetizing either (20s for the 1st round pick), and we still have our 1st this year. A player that interests me as a Spurs fan on ATL is Al Horford but then you'll never give him in a Blair trade so I cannot see these two teams working anything out, sorry my friend.

Why would we move Blair? He's cheap and he's young and productive.

You guys really don't have anything we'd want in return for Blair.

thanks for the straight up response, and yeah... i didn't think so. blair is a good player and unique. i wanted him in atlanta if he fell to us in the second round which he obviously didn't but i would have really been tempted to trade up if i were rick sund, our GM.

I wouldn't say no to Josh Smith or Joe Johnson, but obviously we'd need to clean house to get either of those two.

But there's no way the Hawks would offer up JJ or Smith for Blair.
