All-Star reserves determined. No Kaman

Post#1 » by donemilio21 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:30 pm

Really hard to understand that Kaman couldn't make the all-star team.
Yeah Z-Bo deserves a spot as well, but Kaman should have gotten Pau Gasol's spot.

My problem with this is more that Gasol made it than Kaman not making it. Kaman made a good point in how Gasol hasn't played that much this season, so far only 29 games. Another thought came to mind that I think only one true center is playing in the all start game this year and that's Dwight Howard. Al Hortford plays center but is really a PF. Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, and Zach Randolph are not centers. The one big man I left out is Tim Duncan and he can play center, so to correct myself maybe there are 1 and 1/2 centers playing in the all star game.

Duncan counts as a half because he prefers to play PF over center. Again I feel that Gasol shouldn't have been named to the all star game and I guess star teams may carry too much weight for all star selection. When there are barely any real centers in the NBA why not put a real one in the all star game?

Screw Kaman, he needs to stop worrying about the stupid all-star game which means nothing for the team. He needs to start focusing on winning games. These individual stats are getting to his head. He can't say anything because we lost to the NETS!

Zach Randolph deserved it more than him. Pau Gasol is not a whining bitch and doesn't make dumb turnovers on important plays. If we trade Kaman for a couple decent good players we would be deeper and better off. We have Marcus and i think DeAndre shuld get more minutes. Were gonna get a good draft pick this year because its pretty deep. Plus, we will have more than enough cap room to sign an all-star. Kaman needs to win us games or get him outta here.

Stern has it worked like a movie script. Kaman has every right to call the NBA out. Why should Kaman keep his mouth shut? Status Quo. Kaman deservers over Pau & Marc Gasol to be an All Star.
Pau Gasol is a very good player but, he has been injured for over 1/3 of the season.
I guess this means 'No Most Improved" votes for Kaman.

I dislike Z-Bo, but I have to admit he deserved the spot since the Grizzles are performing way better than expected. The Clippers on the other hand, are playing way below expectations. Individual stats don't mean anything when your team is losing. All-stars should be players who actually lead their team to win games.

*We should get rid of Kaman while his value is high. If Camby leaves, Kaman's production is going to drop back down. Camby helps set Kaman up with good passes, draws defenders away, and covers for Kaman's defensive and rebounding lapses.

Wow....Wow....Wow....Chris Kaman is the best C in the NBA stats wise this year. Chris Kaman is a good player only getting better. Kaman didn't lose to the Nets by himself the whole team did (He did have 24-11). DON'T trade Kaman. I never post anything on here but this really pisses me off that people have the nerve to come on here and say "Screw Kaman". Kaman gets no respect. People don't get him, I do. Watch videos of him and you will see this guy is a genuine smart guy. Listen to all interview during post game, he actually sounds smart because he is. Clippers are going to get better each game and Kaman is the biggest part of it.

1. He is on the Clippers.
2. He is not a "big name."

I wish he made it though.

Pau only made it because he's a Laker, I just have a problem with him being an all star this year.

First and foremost, congratulations to Zach Randolph. I'm glad that he's making a lot of people eat crow right now. He is truly deserving and I'm glad the coaches made the right decision on his behalf.

I was totally pissed with this team's performance last night. Even after the things that I said last night, I still feel that Kaman was deserving of an all-star spot. I would say that it's all politics. You have one team that has a top 2 record in the league and is defending champions, that also happen to be that other LA team. Pau has been a better player throughout their careers, but it should be based upon this season. Kaman was left off of the ballot because he missed so many games last season. They need to stay consistent.

If anybody on this team wants any of kind of respect when it comes to accolades, they have to go above and beyond to really get noticed. If this team wants all-stars, they have to have a winning record. We've had other occasions where a player deserved a spot, but only got in after someone was injured and a spot freed up. That could very well happen again this. The bottom line is that if you want to show that they made the wrong decision, then you show it in your play. Kaman's always said that the individual accolades didn't matter, then he needs to not let this one matter. The main stats that matter are Wins and Losses. When he can better contribute to those stats, he'll be more likely to be rewarded for his personal stats.

Should've been expected.

But of course Gasol makes it over Kaman at the C spot(since when is the guy a real center?) and Amare gets voted in at Kaman's position...

That's why I was saying there are barely any true Centers playing in the all star game

Why is it so hard to understand? The All Star game is a sham, this year is the worst it's ever been you've seen the players it's becoming less relevant every year. I can't wait to see Shannon Brown dunk I also enjoy the rookie soph game seeing all the young stars even more than the big boy game.

It's not Pau's fault guys don't use this as an opportunity to slam on the Lakers it's obviously an NBA problem.

I'm not mad at the Lakers, I'm mad at the NBA. I was really thinking about sending David Stern an angry letter about how the all star system is right now. But not much can be done about the selections now.

Correct me if im wrong but doeesnt Kaman leads all centers in scoring? and with a record of around .500 and a large amount of games played he shouldve gotten in.

I'd take Bynum over Kaman despite Kaman's prettier numbers

Brandon Roy is most likely to miss the all star game due to injury. This could be a chance for Kaman. I wish he had played better during the 8 game road trip.
