not a chance in hell but it'd be nice
even i'm starting to get on the "might as well start rebuilding" bandwagon

obviously this is like a video game trade. we say we still can make the playoffs this year and sell some tickets but we just acquired a bunch of young talent so eventually our roster will compete as they develop into stars. rondo - ellis - (insert young talent) - randolph - perkins

Too bad the NBA doesn't work in the Celtics favor, because this will never, ever happen. :)

Wow. Today on Felger and Maserati, they're suggesting (or more like speculating) that Garnett might have had sustained permanent damage in his knee. I hope this isn't the case but you never know...

Those guys are idiots. KG looks the same way he did in late November (remember the way he dragged his leg around in the NYK game--the one where he hit the eventual game winner). He's simply lost strength in and around the knee due 3 weeks of inactivity. That's all.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

+1, Also why are some Cs fan so quick to throw Ray under the bus. He is the only guy that has come through for you guys whenever you needed a player to step up. He hasnt missed a game 41/41 and he has been clutch by saving your teams arse when your team came close to giving the game away. He was one of the main reasons you guys won your title in 08. He is your second leading scorer with 16ppg behind P.P. SO why is it that you guys want to get rid of him so bad? I mean just last night the guy hits a three to win the game against the Blazers and this morning there are more threads about trading him again.

Because they are delusional. Because Ray has an expiring contract that want to believe his game his failing even though he is the one holding up to the riggers of the season. They also seem to fail to understand that you have to trade Ray for a starting SG because that is the only starting position we have available and while there are probably a half dozen guys who would be an upgrade none are available. So we can read about trading him for guys who are frequently injured and are playing poorly but have the novel addition of being owed 8 figures for the next couple of seaons. Guys like Rip Hamilton, Josh Howard, and on and on.

I've to agree, Garnett doesn't look right. He lacks mobility and seemingly has no lift in his legs. His feet aren't moving fast enough on rotations. I wouldn't be as concern if not for R. Wallace being less than what I'd expected from him.

I concur. The Celtics just aren't the same team from their championship run season. Garnett isn't the same and it shows.

This is a sad reality but Boston fans have to know that this moment could come eventually. That's why you've to enjoy the good times whenever they happen.

As one NBA coach privately says, “They’re just not as nasty as they were” when they won the title. “And they don’t rebound.” No, Boston never did replace James Posey, P.J. Brown and Leon Powe off that ’08 championship bench. The Celtics coaches insist the development of Rondo and Kendrick Perkins(notes) – whom they believe is the best low-post defender in the league – can still pick up for Garnett’s fading fury.

“The other guys are better defenders,” Rivers said, “so hopefully [Garnett] doesn’t have to do as much.”

Because he can’t anymore, and that ought to be clear to everyone with the Celtics. Garnett is holding on, holding tight and trying to get to the finish line for one more championship. Only now, the Celtics must ask themselves: How much longer can they watch him drag that knee up and down the floor, dragging the last gasp of an 18th banner with it?

KG is not leaving til his contract is up. He's the heart and soul of this team. He's what makes our trademark defense go.
