The Signs are Here

Post#1 » by franchise73 » Fri Jan 29, 2010 9:15 pm

The signs of a Deal that includes Iggy are here.

1) We sign Will Conroy. When you have AB and Lowry why would you add a third point guard when your lacking size?? Because a point guard is going to be included in this deal!! Who i dont know, but expect lowry or AB to be part of the package for Iggy. Thats a given.

2) Sixers announced that they Have No 'Untouchables'. That is specifically pointing out Iggy. :)

3) Its been reported that the Tragedy In Haiti Won't Be Deterrent In Dalembert Trade. So im taking a wild guess and going to say Dalembert is included too.

Of cource the Suns might get in in the sweepstakes and go for Iggy with a trade that includes Amare. But they have too many guards already so I doubt it.
I just hope that if this goes down, we can still keep our core players (scola, landry, AB, ect.)

I cant wait for the deadline!!

Well he kind of pointed that out with the title..

and I honestly dont think too much into it.. Because Morey was quoted that Conroy wont be up longer than the 10 days, BUT he also said he 'wanted him to know the system incase of an injury'

but if we dont get Iggy.. i will be VERY disappointed

when u have a healthy yao ming (god willing) it makes things a whole lot easier. iggys in his prime years and will be for awhile, so that gives us plenty time to find a replacement for a dominant big like yao if he remains injury prone. a center like yao can make a top notch perimeter scorer's game much better.

in philly they never had a dominant post scorer so the defense can focus more on the perimeter, the opposite happens w/ a dominant post scorer. of corse w/ tmac he couldnt shoot that well but thats mainly cuz he hasnt played 10 straight games healthy since 05, nothing you can do when ur injured. but iggy is never injured. sure he's not on kobe or wades level but he's just under that, a 2nd tier swingman. w/ a 1st tier big like yao, and w/ the right pieces houston can win the finals.

sounds so sweet but way too good to be true, cuz even if do pull off a good trade yao might never be the same :( , and how many dominant bigs are there? might have to do a pf/c combo like gasol/bynum or kg/perkins, or can try to get brook lopez aka tim duncans 1st little brother, but w/e , i am looking forward to getting rid of tmacs contract :) :( .

Why? Because he is not nearly worth his contract. He is NOT as scorer...he is just forced to score. He is turnover prone. His jumpshot has never been solid and never will be. He is an awesome compliment player like Ariza is, but for how much he costs, this is a no brainer. The answer is NO. Yao would make him better since he wouldn't be forced to score.......but then why pay him like a top scorer? This would make things so much harder if we realize we need more help down the road. Also, keeping this team together is going to cost us. We cant afford to overpay for Iggys production.

OH...and we have to take on Dalembert too. Our team isn't in the business of bailing out teams that entered into ridiculous contracts.

ya his jumper sucks cuz he's in philly . imo he'd be much more efficient w/ someone like yao to help draw off double teams. he doesnt even have spacing in philly since no one can shoot 3s other than kapono, who isnt that good anyway. but w/e i dont argue just state my opinion, and in imo iggy would be great here as long as we keep 2 of brooks/scola/landry and if yao plays.

I thought it was because Lowry got injured and will be out at least a week, or was this plan in place before that had happened?

I'm pretty sure Conroy was signed before Lowry got injured.

Iggy
Pros:
- Seems to be an above average to excellent rebounder (someone supply me some advanced rebounding stats for confirmation?)
- Decent passer / ballhandler (via assists and turnovers, again, confirmation please)
- Good at steals
- Doesn't foul much

Cons
- Can score, but he scores like Ariza is now - via high volume of shots taken
- Overpriced contract. He's really probably the worse of the two.

Dalembert
Pros:
- Rebounding like a monster 9.6 in 26mpg
- Ditto with blocks (2.2)
- Shoots efficiently from the field and the line

Cons
- Somewhat turnover prone
- Overpaid by probably 2-4 million, which isn't horrible, and only runs through next year.

Why does Dalembert sit so much? Is it his low scoring? The first two years of his contract he played over 30mpg. Seems to have some nice positives.

(First attempt at calculating WS / PAWSMin / WP48 as opposed to looking up the calculated values. Maybe I got them right?)
