Don't know how either move makes sense, unless AA has already found a way to dump Vernon Wells contract (which I highly HIGHLY doubt), this seems like a couple off-season interests JP would have rather than AA, just weird.

i think these would be PR moves meant to get some fans in the seats. i think Rogers is worried about the upcoming season.
or, maybe cito and AA just don't believe our young guys are ready to take the next step and be everyday guys...we'll see i guess.

I don't think it has anything to do with Wells. It's just stop gap moves, like someone said would help get some fans watching. If it's cheap I really don't care. Worst case it doesn't work and they leave, best case, they play well and we flip them for some prospects or let them leave via FA next year for some picks.
