the team doesn't look at Sessions and Hollins as negative assets so they wouldn't trade them for expirings alone, much less use a draft pick to sweeten the deal

Yeah, I agree.

Maybe you could say Hollins is tradeable for expirings but definitely not Sessions.

I'm not a big fan of Sessions, I know the guy is capable of putting up decent numbers, and works well in the triangle. The thing is.. for one he is an inconsistent shooter at best, second, he for whatever reason can't hit a free throw, that one is beyond me. Finally, signing him for four years has me confused, we want Rubio, already have Flynn, and so we sign Sessions for four years? Best ever would be John Wall included in the equation.

Hollins can play a little, and comes very cheap, so I agree with some of the other posters here, that trading him would be pointless.

Unloading Sessions to me wouldn't be the worst decision ever, long-term anyhow.. all my opinion though.

Looks like a heist. These guys are young players on reasonable contracts.

Sessions definitely has some flaws, and if he didnt he wouldnt have signed with the wolves for the cheap contract he did. I absolutely think that Kahn picked him up because he was at a great value.

I think Kahn will look for more than just expirings for him. Its no sure thing that Rubio will come over in 2 years, or that John Wall will be picked by the wolves, so until either of those things happen, I think Kahn likes the idea of having a 23 year old 12/5 backup PG on a reasonable contract.

I guess I'm not as sold that Sessions really is a 12/5 guy for this team, and for whatever reason, his flaws seem to be flaring up more then ever this season. I'll admit I'm not quite as down on Sessions as I might sound in my posts, I'd take him over Telfair a any day, anytime, any year.

Four years and about four or so million per isn't bad, but not great either, just my opinion I guess. I hear ya on Rubio being no guarantee what-so-ever, and I'm pretty pessimistic on that as you might be as well.. I just find the whole strategy a little strange I guess. Good points though. :)

That part is true in the main frame of things, I forgot to mention this in my previous post to Slinky. That whole idea of giving up that Charlotte pick as well as possibly Ellington too? Yeah that really would be a heist, bank bailout level of heist!!!!

You really thought Sessions, Ellington, and a 1st round pick for expirings was a reasonable enough deal for the Wolves that you should post it in our room?

Yeah to me the 1st round part is the most killer, Ellington too.

This would be a much more reasonable deal.

PG Chcuky Atkins (expiring)

PISTONS GET:
PG Ramon Sessions
C Hollins

From a Piston's point of view anyway. The Wolves probably want to keep Hollins and will probably get more for Sessions than just an expiring. Throw in Detroit's 2nd round pick and we might pull the trigger, but the Piston's fan wouldn't do that.

You forgot the 2nd round pick. $6-7 million in capspace we're unlikely to make a big splash with is totally worth moving down 20 slots in the draft.

If we had a legit shot at Lebron, then this trade might make sense....but we dont....so not even a little interested.
