Min/Phi EPIC MEGA BLOCKBUSTER...now with a poll!!!

Post#1 » by cpfsf » Sun Jan 31, 2010 12:02 am

no games on tv and no beer make cpfsf something something

Min In: Brand Iguodala Dalembert 2010 first round pick (no protection)
Phi In: Hollins Pecherov Blount Cardinal Pavlovic Jefferson

Dalembert Jawai
Love Brand
Brewer Gomes Tucker
Iguodala Wilkins Ellington
Flynn Sessions
Top 4 pick + Top 6 pick (probably top 5 as Philly won't be winning games after this)

Then we got assets we can trade like the Cha/Uta pick, Pekovic, and Gomes.

If you look closely, you'll see cpfsf proposed a trade

That's a fun one, it's like "Hey. We'll give your our number 1 option and best player, one other guy who is pretty good, and a bunch of expiring for everyone on your team that's worth anything, and your 1st rounder unprotected". Somehow I don't think this is too balanced.

I changed it, but here's what I got so far.

Expirings = Iggy + Brand
Jefferson < Top 6 pick (I think Big Al should be worth a 5th pick, maybe even 4th)
Expirings > Brand

I removed Holiday, Speights, Sessions, and Wilkins from the discussion if people view it as unfair (and an attempt to keep us under the lux)

Wow. Even Bill Gates would be bankrupt after this trade

Dalembert/Aldrich
Love/Brand
Iguodala/Gomes
Turner/Brewer
Flynn/Sessions(Rubio)

We still can't shoot 3's but playoffs for sure... :P

I was thinking we could trade Gomes and Sessions before the season ended.

So Philly is 15-31 with those three guys playing next to Holiday, Speights, and Young. What makes you think we would be a playoff team with them playing next to Flynn, Love, and Gomes?

They are not playing as good as they could be playing. If they played like they could they'd be in the playoff race for sure (remember last season they we're 6th seeded). It's only the East but add that Flynn and Love are better than Holiday and Speights and you add 2 top 6 picks in this years draft.
I think even in the West you've got at least a bad seeded playoff team then.
And depending on how things roll out (like how our young players develop and what luck we have in this years draft) you've got a contender - or not

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=5419087

We take on all their garbage contracts, add their (unprotected) pick this season (draft Cole Aldrich and John Wall or Evan Turner/Wesley Johnson --> flip other picks in this years draft into future picks or add shooters). Dalembert might leave in 2011 then because we can't offer him a big contract but we've got our replacement with Aldrich right behind him. Love can come off the bench with Brand starting. Let Brand play so great that he's worth expirings again (and helps us compete for the playoffs in the meantime) and once a team offers expirings he can leave.

Dalembert
Brand/Love
Iguodala/Brewer
Brewer/Ellington
Flynn/Sessions
+Turner(Johnson)/Aldrich or Wall/Aldrich draft

Future core:
Aldrich, Love, Pekovic (signed once Brand is gone), Wall/Turner or Johnson, Iguodala, Rubio (can be used to aquire a shooter, too, if we luck out in the lottery with Wall), Flynn, Brewer, Ellington

Depending on how players (especially Wall/Turner/Johnson, Aldrich/or Rubio) develop it's at least a playoffteam for years to come or even a contender.

It's very expensive. Glen Taylor needs to decide whether he wants to contend or become "only" a solid playoff team.

future team:

Aldrich
Love/Pekovic
Iguodala/Brewer
Turner/Ellington
Flynn/Rubio

or

Aldrich
Love/Pekovic
Iguodala/Brewer
(return for Rubio)/Ellington
Wall/Flynn

Gotta keep in mind that you can't keep all of those guys though

I added a poll btw :)

There is one aspect that hasn't been discussed yet and that's injuries. An injury from one of our better players like Love, Jefferson, and now Brewer can really cripple this team. With this new roster we won't have to worry about that. Furthermore, our bench would rank among the best in the NBA.

Do you think I should post this on the trade board or will I be eaten over there?

I would rather suck and be rich with draft picks than taking in Brand's contract

I R Penguin.

As far as the trade, I actually like it for the Wolves. Then the 2011 trade deadline we move Dalembert for more talent as he'd be an expiring.
