Other than the Seattle rape-trade being unrealistic and the stupid kicker pick it looks pretty good! Don't ever do those things again or I won't be nice the next time.

Kicker pick was good since Hansen is what, 100?
And Seattle called me. It's legit.

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
The Dan Williams pick sucks, no offense. We could get a way better player at 16. And Boldin for just a 3rd and a 6th is kinda stretching it. I think the Seattle trade isnt that bad....if they were to get fascinated with someone at 2 than they could consider it
Other than that i of course love it. Wilson and Haden would be an amazing young Corner tandem and Rolle back there with Delmas definitely has potential. The D is way better. Tho im confused as to why Haden is not a starting CB on your depth chart. The RB situation improves a bunch and Boldin gives CJ the room to work and Stafford all the weapons he would ever need.
Dreamy. not likely, but dreamy

I'd rather not draft Dan Williams either, but that's me.
I like the rest of it. And agree with Ajax, I'd start Haden.
Good job Bar.

So you're going to keep 2 kickers on the roster, or are you planning on trading Hanson? Why is the kicker so important to you that you are willing to make a pick that takes away from the fact that we are DESPERATELY SHORT of good football players at all positions?!?!? I just can't agree with your opinion, it makes no sense.

Its not like i ever even said a word about the kicker in my post. I guess i didnt even think about it too hard. Its his mock, if he wants his seventh rounder to be Swenson (who i dont think will last to the 7th anyway) than that's his prerogative. I wouldn't do it personally, but if the rest happened and we drafted a kicker in the 7th i think i would live.

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
Typo on the Haden / depth chart thing. And Dan Williams is what Schwartz says he wants for a DT. Two huge guys clogging up the middle. Dan Williams is the best NT in this draft hands down and his stock is rising a lot I heard.
As for the kicker, Swenson is the best kicker in this draft and Hanson is old. Real old. Why not groom the next kicker that could potentially give us 15 more productive years? That's my opinion.

No you said you loved that pick. You mentioned what you didn't like and said you loved the rest, hence that pick is totally fine with you. You either accept the pick or you don't and I think it's ridiculous for anybody to accept it and it really shows who doesn't understand the team and the importance of Hanson's legacy and the awareness of just how much longer he is useful. It's a really thoughtless pick and a disgrace of a mock for having it. And you love it. That's nuts. You and Bartender have fun with Swenson on your team, but I'm out on that deal, i reject it passionately.

Whatever buddy. I guess i didnt fully elaborate in my original post everything i did and did not like. god forbid i didnt dissect the 7th round pick fully. I also didnt mention that i wouldnt be a huge fan of signing Casey Hampton either. I was speaking pretty generally the first time through and chose some specific examples for each.
really no reason to go into an uproar over this

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
On the contrary, a total reason to do so. When somebody lovingly adopts an atrocity and vouches for it, then I'd say that's a pretty good reason to fight back on behalf of Hanson and other sensible fans that want to improve positions on this team and not backup kickers for a multi-year kicker development plan.
And now Kellmellus will come in here and say you're right TSE because that makes sense, and then you guys will say that we're crazy while you guys are laughing all the way to the National Bank of Kickers. You guys need to get your heads out of the clouds and start paying attention to the real problems of the team.

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
Hot Report for Ajax and Bartender!!....
I just found this highlight video of Brett Swenson kicking in high school. He does look like he has a good accurate leg. How do you guys think we will use him in the first year, should we put him in at full-time FG and kickoff duties or just one or the other? What strengths do you particularly like of what he brings to the table? And care to breakdown this game film?
http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruitin ... aude-27470
My analysis says he looks pretty reliable, although I'm not sure if I can give him credit for all of those kicks considering the goalposts were slanted such that the crossbar isn't parallel to the ground, but with adjusting for that I'd say he looks pretty favorable. I just wish I could find some kickoff film to see how far he can boot that ball.

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
I will give you the lowdown on Swenson since I've been watching him for many years cuz I'm a die-hard Spartan fan. Swenson set the NCAA record with most consecutive field goals made. He was NCAA Freshman All-American in 2006 as well as All Big Ten. He was named the 2009 elite placekicker by the college football performance awards. His longest field goal in college was 52 yards. Extremely accurate, reliable, and clutch.
However, there is one fault in him. He struggles to get the ball past the 10 yard line on kickoffs. This is why I think it's important to get him now and groom his only fault before Hanson decides to retire.
TSE, don't get me wrong... I love Hanson and what he's done and meant for this team. For many years, I called this team the "Detroit Jason-Hason's". He is a legacy and the best kicker in NFL history, but his time is running out. He's not going to be playing with us when he's 50 years old. There is 1 or 2 good years left in him, and in this draft, there is an extremely accurate kicker. There will not be another kicker like this for a good 5-10 years that can fire down field goals like he can. Draft Swenson and let Hanson develop him for the next year or so and when Hanson decides to retire, we have our next legacy.

And it's only a 7th rounder. I can tell you that most 7th rounders fail to stay on the team the whole year so a K is great value for a 7th round choice cuz at least you know that he's a sure roster spot.

Thats the problem tho because Swenson is seen as one of, if not the, top kickers in the draft and probably wont last til the 7th

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
Decent, very good in fact.
1) I wouldn't trade for Boldin or McGahee. Keep the picks and fill the roster. We're not in position to deal picks away for vets like these guys. Teams in competition might be better to make such moves....
2) I'd look to deal Julian Peterson over Sims. Give Sims Suh or McCoy (1st round picks), and he'll be MUCH better - like when he had Rogers protecting him from the middle of the opposing o-line.
3) I'd target CB Marlin Jackson AND Carlos Rogers (getting both would be stellar!) over Harper.

Re: Offseason Mock 2.0
Well, Schwartz coached Harper in Tennessee so that is very realistic over Marlin and Carlos imo.
And we need an eraser for Calvin. We aren't going to find one in this draft. Anquan would AUTOMATICALLY bring attention off of Calvin which would be best for Calvin AND Stafford
McGahee is realistic simply because he is the power runner that would match up perfect with a speedy runner. Remember how good he started the year with sharing time with Ray Rice? Something like 6 TD's in the first 3 games. He lost all his carries after those games though cuz Ray Rice is just way too stellar to be splitting time with someone.
