No more JVG, Breen, Jackson PLEASE!!

This has been grating on me for years. At what point is ABC going to acknowledge that 3 New York guys can't call an unbiased Celtics game. It was bad enough the first time around when they were cheerleading for the Lakers to beat us in the finals. Its been 3 years and it happens every game they call.

Really hate it when a nationally broadcast game isn't simultaneously broadcast on CSN. If I'm going to listen to biased analysis, I'd rather hear it for the C's.

Jackson is the worse. He has Kobe's dick shoved so far up his throat that it's not even funny. I used to think Stephen A. Smith had it deep..but boy Jackson takes it to a whole different level of slobbering. It's pathetic. I would be ashamed of myself if I said so many good things about another man on national TV, every damn time he plays.

Breen can kiss my ass. I remember one play where Pierce drew a foul on Artest by going under his arms and elevating for a jumpshot. Breen went on to say something like "Pierce draws the foul on Artest. .......Kobe Bryant is also quite good at doing that play". WTF? Kobe wasn't even involved in the play, and yet Mike Breen feels the need to throw his name in there too?

I've met these guys and Mark and JVG are awesome. My friend goes to MIT and JVG just gave him Daryl Morey's number on the spot. Breen is a clown that does not like the Celtics.

JVG and Jackson have some funny chemistry with each other. And when you consider that they have to contractually prop up the stars and are barely allowed to dig into the refs, they are my favorites.

It's Hubie that I can't stand. Hubie and Reggie. Although, Reggie is so awkwardly bad that it is funny sometimes.

Breen is a Knicks guy, but his schtick does get grating when it comes to the C's. He's a very solid play-by-play guy though. Van Gundy is a solid, but not exceptional, x's and o's guy and has a good personality. I actually perceive the JVG and Jackson back and forth as detracting from the action and is my only real issue.

As for Hubie Brown, I think he's one of the best in the business. As a Celts fan, I did not give him any credit as a coach, having coached the Knicks. But the guy has an excellent grasp of the intracacies of basketball.

I mean if you want to talk about bias and terrible commentating there it is...

I think Jackson can be a bit irritating regardless of what team you support but JVG and Breen are money.

It's different. Mike and Tommy are home team announcers, that's expected for any team's announcers. Breen Jackson and JVG are the head announcers for ABC's national coverage, they shouldn't have an agenda or show bias.

I personally love JVG. He's different than anyone commentating today. Sarcastic, funny and smart. Mark Jackson on the other hand? Useless. His only contribution to the game is his occasional "You're better than that" comment... Breen is ok. I think he's geeting better in terms of the bias. I have some recorded games from the championship season and it's embarrassing. Replace Jackson with McHale and now we're having ourselves a party!

Yeah but Celtic's announcers are expected to be homer announcers. The national braodcast team is suppose to be neutral however this crew, specifically JVG and Breen consistently make ridiculous assersion throughout the game. Jackson is neutral, I just dont like his style. Don't get me wrong they are both talented broadcasters but the biases are obvious.

And look it goes the other way. Jon Barry occasionally calls celtics games and it sound like he is carrying celtics pompoms. Some guys who have a deep seated rooting interest for a team can't turn it off.

I concur. I can't stand Jeff Van Gundy. I would prefer to turn on the radio and hear that while watching the TV. But there's a few seconds of delay for the TV broadcast that puts it behind the live radio broadcast. Well, I suppose I could put the TV on mute, it probably would sound better.

Between the irksome ways that Jackson and Van Gundy will go off on tangents during a live broadcast and the NBA's pro LeBron and Kobe campaign. Why do i bother to turn on the TV? I mean I wonder why the Magic and Celtics players don't just stop and ask if everyone gives a bleep about their game. It's like... Hello? Are we not playing a game, don't you see us? Or do you want for us to stop and wait until you guys are finished talking about irrelevant things.

But I think it was worst for their Christmas game because you'd the Lakers playing thereafter, and no one seemingly cared about the first game of that doubleheader.

JVG is a good commentator in my book- he doesn't sugar coat anything and he tells it how it is: he thinks that we'll beat the Hawks or Magic in a playoff series so he said it despite the evidence from the regular season games. He thinks the Cavs will beat us so he said that as well.

Breen is nothing special, but he's fine.

Mark Jackson and his weird phrases- "Mama there goes that man...", "You're better than that" or his often standardized responses (have to play hard, have to show the effort- well no ****) can get annoying sometimes, but I don't mind him that much either. To be fair to him, he doesn't seem biased- he simply love whoever is playing well. He was praising Pierce constantly through the 08 playoffs as a guy who could challenge Lebron/Kobe on any given night, as a player who was one of the best go to guys in the league.

JVG is very good. My g/f was laughing at some of his comments - and she doesn't even like hoops. Listen its just because the C's have been sucking lately and these guys are calling them out that they are getting the negative spin. JVG is very complementary when they are playing well.. Once the C's stop playing like crap they will get the love again - and you guys will like these guys again.
