Danny!!! Make a trade, Dammit!

Post#1 » by phoolishly_insane » Mon Feb 1, 2010 3:35 am

We're losing a lot of games!

You should have picked this up when we had a couple of losing streaks!

Trade Ray Allen now before it's too late!

Stop wasting time! Grrrrrrr!

There are 18 days til a trade is made. That is IF, a trade will be made. If somebody buys a decent player out, before the 18th, we might not trade for anybody. And I'm pretty sure, Ray Allen isn't going anywhere. But relax..I trust Danny Ainge, 100%...if there is something to improve this team, he will get it done.

If Danny had traded Ray this summer like he should have, you wouldn't have to hear about it now.

What were the odds that we were going to get our $20m worth out of the guy this year?

Belichick would have shipped him out.

The interesting thing is, I'm not convinced that trading Ray really helps us to get more than trading the other expirings. Unless we get Richardson/Barbosa or something like that. I think 8-9 million dollar guys will be available for expirings, but not 20 million types (and if they are, we wouldn't want them.)

yep. It's a panic thread.

We're not winning against good teams and giving up 4th qtrs to lose games.

This is ridiculous.

Why do you trust Danny Ainge 100%? Did you trust him last season when he got Moore and Marbury? It's not that easy to get a quality player without giving up much.

For the OP, trading Ray Allen isn't the answer. Ray Allen is a year older and I don't think he has missed any games this year. Ray is just playing on tired legs and Doc is playing him too many minutes.Doc refuses to play Giddens and/or Walker. Playing one of these two, even if it's as little as 8 minutes a night would keep Ray fresher.

The good news is that Daniels will be back soon and TA is playing well. Once Daniels is back, Ray's minutes should decrease, but then again you never know with Doc.

If there's going to be a trade it'll be for spare parts. Ray's not going anywhere. Add to it the fact our spare parts are horrible there's no way we can get anything of value. If it were me I'd trade a Walker, Williams, Giddens for some 2nd round picks if possible. Other than that I don't want to see our crap traded for someone else's crap considering our crap knows the system.

The only way to shake this team up is a change in the gameplan not the addition of crap role players.

Last year he did what he had to that to fill our needs, it just didn't work out as planned. He got Marbury because we were thin at the 1, and he got Mikki because we were thin at the 4-5. At the time it happened, fans were satisfied with both signings, and though Mikki was a solid 3rd, 4th string player to play 5-8 minutes a game, MAYBE. Thing is, we all expected KG to come back, so Moore would be some version of this years Shelden Williams just chilling on the bench. Even if KG DIDN'T come back, we still had Perkins, Big Baby, Leon and worst case scenario we also had Scal, so Moore's number really wouldn't be called much. Unfortunately, we all know what happened to Leon, KG didn't come back, and Scal was injured for most of the playoffs, and that just **** up our whole season. Moore, our 4th string center, was forced to become our backup center...not Danny's fault. As for Marbury, he played a couple good games, he wasn't a total disaster as some say. He even won us a game in the playoffs against Orlando, and always got Eddie house some good shots. Hell I wish he was still here now..with a full training camp, and season under his belt he would have been a great back up to Rondo.

I also question the undying support and loyalty to Ainge. Yes, he brought a title... but bringing in KG and Ray were his two big moves.

Wouldn't a great GM have brought in another PG? Last season he (like so many others) overvalued Mikki and took a flyer on Starbury only to learn why nobody else wanted them.

The Celts have as good a shot as anyone this season, but they need a backup PG and in my opinion a new coach. Keep Ray.

Can't fault Ainge for Starbury and Moore. When it comes to buyouts the pickens are slim. Worth a try.

Moore looked decent through one season playing with JKidd. That's it. I'm sure I could catch 4 lobs a game playing with Kidd too. lol

If Ainge doesn't get his friend McHale to trade him KG then the Ray Allen deal would have been a disaster. Perhaps Danny knew all along that he was going to get KG but the fact remains that other teams were willing to part with a better package than what Mchale accepted. Ainge won but I wouldn't worship at his feet. Great pick in Rondo but also a lot of bad decisions. It's like Dumars. Everybody thinks he is a genius but if he wasn't lucky getting Rasheed, the Pistons don't win anything. Remember he made the all time worst whiff in selecting Darko instead of Carmelo. Hell, he could have picked any of the top 7-8 picks and won.
