He should play Williams/Roy/Kobe/Nowitzki/Gasol all 40+ minutes a piece.

The coaches with the best conference records at the half-way point get the spot. Unless they coached it last year, then it falls to the 2nd place coach.

I guess Phil coached last year so it goes to Karl.

Whoops.

I misread what you wrote. Thought you didn't know why Karl was coaching.

Chris Paul is out for 2 months, meaning that there will be an injury replacement.

Billups seems like the logical choice.

Billups in the All Star game after all?

Post#28 » by Wigginstime » Mon Feb 1, 2010 3:49 am

CP3 is out for 2 months and I would assume Billups is the obvious choice for a sub.

Thoughts?

Think anyone would get suspicious if Karl ran a five guard lineup and made Kobe guard Howard/KG/Bosh for the entire game.

Apparently Jason Kidd is replacing Kobe. Wow, that's an abysmal selection.

Pretty nice night for the Nuggets. Billups and Melo played well. Melo was a buzzer 3 away from MVP.

Whatever play Karl supposedly drew up definitely broke down pretty quick if Dirk wasn't able to get open with Chris Bosh or whoever on him.

Would have been awesome to see Melo hit that shot and win the game, along with the MVP. Not a great look though.

I'm not sure I consider that being "in" the dunk contest. Maybe he can do that every season with a different team.

Yeah, I mean Deron's unneeded foul was pretty much the game killer. Melo hitting a three would just have been a miracle. Inconsequential game.....so the fact Melo and Billups played well is satisfying enough. Melo did have one of the scariest arms coming at him on the perimeter (lebron), playing some tight defense.

Wade and LeBron/Howard pretty much were making up for the dunk contest all night.

The interesting part is Cleveland is NEXT. :D
