BOS: Acquire a SG, with length, athleticism and youth, who can spread the floor. Acquire a combo guard who you can pair with House for defensive purposes. Acquire a tweener forward with length, size, youth and athleticism. Acquire an injured defensive-minded C who, if healthy, provides shotblocking, lane-clogging and rebounding but, at worst, is expiring contract and trade chit for next season.

POR: Acquire a large expiring C who helps in a couple different ways. Firstly, he can spread the floor a bit and provides additional space for Miller and Roy to penetrate. Secondly, he, as mentioned, is an expiring contract that cuts off a year of Pryzbilla's contract (Pryzbilla suffered a patella tendon injury and, even if he comes back, will unlikely contribute much next season.) Also acquire a scoring, cost-controlled tweener forward and a developmental wing prospect.

PHI: Get out from under Brand's contract and open up minutes for Speights. They are in those deal predominantly for salary relief. Allen could provide them with some scoring if you want to allow him some of the possession pie.

CHI: Replace Hinrich with a not-quite-as-good facsimile at almost a third the price. Get a penetrator for the starting line-up. Pair Noah with an endomorph in the starting line-up and they should compliment one another nicely.

Pogue, while I like the concept of getting a better suited backup PG and C, and I love Rudy Fernandez, don't you think still leave the issue of the offense being too perimeter dominant? Also, while Ray has been disappointing, his history suggests and he has had a game or two this year to show that, he can still manage a scoring load. None of the players you have coming back in return come with that promise.

I'd rather not mess with teh starting 5, and quit on Ray just yet. If you're going to trade him, give me some sort of Andre Iguodala player back..I hear Cleveland is pushing hard for him..what can they offer Philly, that would be better than Ray Allen?

even though there is no way this could ever happen because 4 way deals are too hard to work out, this actually looks pretty even

the only thing i would say about it from the celtics perspective, is that we are basically getting back four role players, who are good for what they are, but have little upside in that you pretty much know what your going to get from them; i think that if ray is traded most people want a high potential guy in return, so maybe you go with martell webster instead of fernandez?

also with joel being out for the year, this leaves us paper thin in the frontcourt

the only other thing is, i dont see how there is anyway the bulls would justify taking back brand's contract, they run away from this deal faster than usain bolt

All fair points, imo.

Can Ray really carry the scoring load, though? He can utilize possessions, yes. He can dribble if he is only creating for himself. Once he attempts to become a playmaker, leading the break for instance, he becomes turnover prone. If he was simply a 3rd or 4th option shooter/shot-finisher, that is great. He hasn't been utilized that way, though. As I mentioned a couple years ago, he doesn't really provide space in the context that most claim. He is creating space for himself to shoot, yes, but not creating space for teammates to operate.

I think Fernandez, if it was indeed a possibility, can do most of the good things Ray currently does in this offense without a lot of the bad things. He also possesses youth and athleticism, outside shooting and more upside moving forward than Ray without the cache to stranglehold the offense like Ray often does.

To be honest, I would prefer to move Daniels or House in this deal than Tony Allen. I was thinking of Chicago's short-term need for a player (other than Rose) who can create his own shot. I don't think any of the other teams in this deal would do it but if they would, I would be down.
