That deal is beyond terrible for the Kings. Yes getting rid of Kevin Martin is a plus, but really were you serious when you thought of the offer? Expirings for Thompson isn't enough, but to add Martin and EVEN YES EVEN Andres is going to far.

I'll present one offer if JT is available.

Jason Thompson and Nocioni for Ersan Illysova, Dan Gadzuric, Bucks 2010 #1 pick (top three protected)

Thoughts?

I'd consider that deal if I were Petrie.

The Kings get raped in that trade...

The only player on the Bobcats that would really help us out would be Chandler if he were healthy, and I'd only do a Chandler deal for Noc or KT or something like that.

What has Larry Bird of Turkey done to deserve being cast away to Sacramento?

He is not "special" in any category except maybe fouling and he is no way going to be the superior post presence we need to move into a playoff/contending team. If we could dump Noc's contract it would be worth it. There are at least 5 big men in this years draft that will be better then JT. This season is over, time to start looking at the lottery and moving the pieces that are going to hamper us in the future, like Noc.

The next 2 guys next to JT on the foul list are Amare and DHoward. Real big men defend the paint which is why people love Brockman and Thompson in the paint and hate Hawes now defensively. JT rebounds as well as Brockman(both were #2 and #3 in rebounding in college) but can block more shots than Brockman. I would much rather have JT or Brockman using their fouls than players allowing layups or dunks and leaving 6 fouls on the table.

It took Vlade and CWebb several years as vets the paint together to win in the playoffs. Both had been in the league for 5+ years before they STARTED playing in Sac. Thompson and Hawes haven't even been in the league 5 years together.

Just look at the fact that Larry Brown and Michael Jordan want Thompson to be their franchise big man. Larry Brown was an Iverson like tough guy MJ was the greatest player in the history of the game. These 2 HATE soft big men. And both would love to have JT as their 23 year old franchise big man.

That is all that needs to be said about JT not being special at anything.

Even with Hawes these guys are just so young that you cannot say what they will be later in their career. Bogut in his first few years was like Hawes (soft rebounding, soft defense) but in his 5th year is a 16/10/2block guy.

It is just way too early to give up on any young King because of a rough stretch

It is always darkest before the dawn.

the problem with your first trade would be that the Mavs would have 0% in reacquiring Diop who they admitted they made a mistake in resigning before last season.

The second trade leaves the Mavs with no big man other than Dampier and he's going to be iffy the rest of the year with a balky knee. So Gooden is only getting traded if another legit big man is coming back to the team. And none of those Charlotte big men are worth a damn or can score the way Gooden can.

So really you need to find another third team.

If you guys want to just give Jason Thompson away then throw him in with a KMart deal. We'll make sure to treat him right. :D
