So let me get this straight, you have to pay damn near $400 just for a single guaranteed interview (an interview that everyone else that pony's up the $$ gets)? Wow, what a scam! I need to try this!

Anyone looking for a job in the media? If so email Kerrsed and send $195 to his paypal account and he will get you a guaranteed interview with a company (his own) that is hiring!

Haha, yeah I did not see the cost until after I created the thread and then added it later. Seems a little steep, but I guess there is a cost in acquiring the training. I have no idea what it would entail as I haven't really looked into it, but it could be a good springboard to that career in sports.

Thanks for posting this.

It does seem like a pretty steep price, especially when you think about the likelihood of said "guaranteed interview" actually panning out to even a second round interview, much less a job. Towards the end of college, I thought long and hard about a sports career. As many know I took some sports management classes in college, even worked with a couple of pro athletes in that capacity. But the entire industry is SO much about who you know. Granted, ticket sales is a bit easier as it is easy to hire someone on basically all commission. But I will say I was in touch with a few names we'd all recognize, including someone within the Suns organization, and nothing panned out. It was "the economy", but really, it was the fact that I didn't have any connections with sports backgrounds. Colleges that offer sports majors, that's sort of a farce. You can come out of school with that background but there's no such thing as an "entry-level front office" job. You have to be SUPER creative, like start out by being an intern for a very specific event or something. And I couldn't afford the time and the low pay involved in that leap.

So what I'm saying is, it would be "neat" to go to this thing and get an interview, but certainly not worth the money.

It's a training seminar and interview for those who want it. If it was free, every unemployed schmuck desparate for a job would be lining up at midnight. They are weeding out those who arent qualified.

But keep complaining, do you really not think it will sell out?

From what i saw of the website, it was a job selling tickets on the phone/online. Do you really need to pay $400 for training to be a telemarketer? Thats what this job is, glorified telemarketing.

Well exactly, that's all NBA ticket sales is. I mean some people manage accounts but even that really amounts to sending out reminders, collecting payment and issuing tickets. I hate sales so my friend said he may be able to get me a connection for Knicks ticket sales and I declined. Even if it was Suns I wouldn't take that job, sorry to anyone here I'm just not a sales guy.

"Weeding out those who aren't qualified"? No, they're weeding out those who won't pay. If they wanted to weed out those who weren't qualified, they wouldn't guarantee an interview.

Yes it is..."sports sales" = ticket sales from an NBA organization's standpoint.
