Thank you for not being afraid to call out a good player.
He isn't calling out Pau only because he has been awful, he's doing it also because he favors Bynum.

No you're wrong on both accounts. And calling Pau out is exactly what I was doing, it was the very reason I posted his 1st half stat line. Pau was basically no factor at all, anybody who say's he was should register themselves with the state as being legally blind.microfib4thewin wrote:laka4life wrote:DEEP, I gotta say this. And like laka4life mentioned I'll call out anybody on this team when they're not performing up to standards. To me Kobe struggling was a blessing in disguise, it meant that other guys would have to step up...which is what most on this board want to see. And it also prove what we all pretty much agree on and that's the fact that Kobe doesn't have to do it by himself if he let's his teammates help.
The only difference between Kobe and his guys is that he can bring the same intensity and game night in and night out, while his teammates can't absorb that thought process.
Bottom line microfib4thewin is you haven't been paying attention to my post because I was on Drew's ass hard because of his lack of exerting effort on a game by game basis. Some took it as me not liking Drew and that wasn't the case what so ever, I wanted him to bust his butt more. That was it in a nutshell.

I favor no one. Bynum couldn't run the offense at the beginning of the year when Pau was out, he is playing better now, but not good enough to blame everything on a lack of touches whenever he's not doing well. Pau in the meanwhile is averaging nearly identical numbers as last season before the Cavs game. Pau should be called out right now for being passive, just like how Bynum should be called out before for not providing consistent defense all season long and turning over the ball against any sort of hard doubles.

Re: LA Lakers vs Charlotte Bobcats 02/03 Wed. 7:30 Pac
Thanks lala4life, but yeah that's the main problem with some guys. They're living in last year and we're vying for another championship this year. Guys are trying to let Pau live off last year and the year before. Well that equity is gone and guys need to realize that, he exhausted that when he failed to rest this summer. Obviously he didn't know that defending a title is much more taxing than actually winning it.laka4life wrote:DEEP, I gotta say this. His game has been off all season except for the week he went berserk with the 20's on the boards. I told guys in the very beginning he would be touch and go all season, but their undying love of Pau made it difficult for them to even critique him in the slightest way.
Guys need to leave last year and get into this year, living in the past get's you nowhere. Don't believe me ? Go look on the Celtics board, those guys are still talking about that title in '08. They too still think they're close to that title, yet they're one more season away from being joke fodder on a nightly basis here on RealGM.

You gotta be kidding me? When Pau was out Bynum was putting up All Start #'s & I'm sure you're recanting his oh so many turnovers against a hard double is not recanted the same by most here. Bynum has been more up & down here recently than at the beginning of the season.
Sometimes numbers are spoken of when they are irrelevant. Pau has been playing like he has a G-String lodged up his tucus when we've needed him to bear down & play tough.

Bynum should be the first post option, I don't know why Pau gets touches when he is playing garbage, he isn't in shape yet so why not let Bynum get more touches he was playing amazing in the beginning before Pau came

Well, any win against the Bobcats is good, so I'll take it.
Sit Kobe, please.
At least until after the All-Star break. I know we have some tough games coming up, but we've got a big enough lead on Denver that even if we lose all 4 we'll still be in great shape. We can't have Kobe this banged up in the post-season and expect to win it all. It seems like every few games he's just re-aggravating one of his injuries, so he just needs to let them heal. If we sit him now, then he'll get a solid two weeks of rest and can come back against Boston. Don't be a punk Phil, force him to sit.

dudes head is harder than a box of rox,the only way to guarantee he sits out is to kidnapp him before games...
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Re: LA Lakers vs Charlotte Bobcats 02/03 Wed. 7:30 Pac
That was just excrutiating to watch, esp. the third quarter.
Pau no showing, Kobe struggling, Bynum getting worked by Nazr Mohammed, the Wonder Twins trying to take over in crunch time...ugh. About the only one who deserved his post-game shower was Lamar. Everybody else should have been sent home in their funky uniforms.
Pau and Kobe look like they're running on fumes. They were just shells of themselves last night. Thank goodness half their team was out or we'd have gotten run out of the gym. The All-Star break can't come soon enough.
The thing I can't figure out -- yes, Pau overextended himself with summer basketball. No question that was a mistake. But damn, he sat out what, 17,18 games? I'm not expecting him to be daisy fresh with two bad wheels, but that's a lot of time off. He shouldn't be dragging ass like this.
Kobe at least has a good excuse.

Re: LA Lakers vs Charlotte Bobcats 02/03 Wed. 7:30 Pac
Maybe he's intentionally lowering his trade value since the Bosh trade rumors?
But yeah, I don't know what the hell is up with Pau. There's just no excuse for him to be playing this poorly.
This is on management, Phil in particular. Kobe is not going to sit unless his head is cut off. Our coaching staff has to step in and make the right decision, unless they don't care, which is what I've felt for a while now.

Re: LA Lakers vs Charlotte Bobcats 02/03 Wed. 7:30 Pac
Yeah, much of the time, you can blame the lack of involvement. But not last night. He was getting the ball like crazy and he either missed point-blank shots or didn't do anything with it.
He did make a nice, aggressive move for that clutch late basket, but that doesn't absolve him for the rest of the game. Especially on the glass. He flat-out sucked last night.
Giving up 18 offensive boards to a team starting Boris Diaw at the 4 is simply inexcusable. Andrew deserves some blame for that, too. I was absolutely shocked to look at the box this morning and see he had 14. Just watching the game, it seemed like he and Pau were getting killed all night.
All in all, that might be the least entertaining win of the season. Very, very frustrating to watch. Especially Jordan and Shannon down the stretch. I kept thinking, Is that we've come to, putting a game in the hands of those two?
Oh, well. At least we won.

i think they care it's just that we were still winning games and everything looked fine. now that they see these glaring weaknesses i think they will sit him,and i also thik we will make a trade for a point guard also...if nothing else pau and kobe should play limited minutes or not at all in the all star game...
