Should Kobe sit out the All Star game

With all his little injuries, should Kobe look to take the 5 days or so off to rest and try to get some health back into his body.

Given how much international attention he brings to the League I'm not sure he can just sit out...

But if all this talk about being totally focused on winning another Championship in LA is really legit, I think he should sit. Or at least just play a couple series and spend the rest of the time as a cheerleader.

He's got enough All-Star glory... Let someone else get some play...

He really isn't where the team needs him to be right now, and if the extra rest would help, I think he should be all over it.

I've got zero hope it'll happen though.

Unless he is on the IR, he can't. League rules.

i don't even know what the IR rule is in the NBA. does a player have to sit a certain amount of games?

i thought the all star game rule was that the player had to miss at least a set number of his tema's regular season games (i don't know if it's one, two...etc) heading into the all-star game.

5 games is IR I think. That may be from the 80's though.

I thought there's no such thing as IR anymore and that it's the Inactive List. That way they didn't have to make up fake injuries for guys that weren't suiting up...

Give kobe 5 minutes in the first half and 5 in the second half and the rest he can sit. He gets the pop from the fans, makes the NBA happy, commish is happy and he gets some rest.

i wish he would sit. the all star game is just for show anyway. sometimes they play all out if the game is close at the end...our entire team needs rest especially kobe and pau. i hope they both just make cameos and then sit their a$$es down. :D :D :D
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

If Kobe can breathe he can play. He needs to play otherwise it will be a super boring game just as it was a couple of years back when he only played a couple of minutes.

This.

And this is why he needs to sit. Karl going to play him 35 mpg or something ridiculous further damaging the finger/back/knee/ankle/...
