Risk of undersized backcourt by trading Ray Allen

Post#1 » by enzino » Fri Feb 5, 2010 7:55 pm

When I read rumors as a trade of Ray Allen for players such Hinrich, Monta Ellis, my concern is that we risk to go too undersized in the backcourt.

As already noticed by Doc Rivers, C's are suffering a lot against big point guard like Jamal crawford, Baron Davis, Deron williams and so on.

Can you imagine how you should guard with a rotation which gives a lot of minutes to Rajon Rondo (6'0) and Mota Ellis (6'3)

Could you imagine a backcourt trying to stay with Monte Ellis and Rondo? Hinrich can guard bigger 2s and can handle the 1s.

Jamal Crawford isn't killing the Celtics with his height.....he's killing the C's with his speed. Also he tends to hit some pretty unbelivable shots against the C's, sometimes impossible shots.

Eh. I am a talent guy. Hinrich stinks so yes he is too small. But Monta Ellis can play for us anytime.. You could always find some 6'7" d. league guy if "size" is so critical. But its not - so short guys like Ellis get to play..

This is all a moot point because Allen is not being traded.
Reggie stood out like a sore thumb no tattoos no agenda no chirping nothing Just a guy who could score at will He played college ball at Northeastern he replaced Larry as Celtics captain he belonged to Boston.
And I still miss him. Even now.

Agree with the above - give me talent and speed.

Teams don't post up guards more than once or twice a game, even if its working.

This team already is catching the fake heart of the Pistons. The last thing we need is more whiny bitches that think they can run the team better then the coaching staff.
