Trade for CDR
Oh my gosh, I have not been excited for the Wolves and the trade deadline, cuz I figure the big moves will be made by contenders and the Warriors haha. I'd love to get CDR, super hugh need+some production+very little risk=Me Like.

I like him more than most, but seems pointless with Tucker rusting away on the bench

We'd still have to bring in a guy who has range

Re: Trade for CDR
I don't see any reason to bring in CDR. He's a wing on a team that desperately needs wing scoring. How is he going to help our wing scoring? New Brewer>>>CDR.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

Re: Trade for CDR
Can't hurt to give him a look and he could bea good way to boost the bench squad. Someone who can score on his own would be a nice addition to that group.

Is he even better than the wings we have?

I even like Wayne Man better than CDR.
For a 2nd rounder? Sure I'll take him, but anything more than that is a no go.

Re: Trade for CDR
There is no way Wayne is better than CDR. He was averaging 17 points per game with Lawrence Frank as coach this year. If he got to play under Rambis I'd expect something like 14-15 ppg from him on this team. Not likely is he a long-term solution, but it might make us better this year and he could be a bench guy for us when we build our final product.

Well, if you gave Ellington another year in the league and then gave him starter minutes on a bad team, I'd imagine Ellington could put up similar numbers.

Might very well be possible.

Rashad McCants averaged 15ppg his 2nd full season in the league and is now not in the league. Is he too better than Wayne? Cuz one isnt in the league right now.

Re: Trade for CDR
Physically, yes. Mentally, no. Ellington will knock down open looks when he gets them and move the ball when he doesn't. He may chip in a couple bunnies along the way in transition, off of cuts, and if he has an open driving lane, along with giving effort on the defensive end. McCants took open looks when he had them, and if he didn't, stopped the ball and tried to get himself a better shot. He didn't know how to play defense without getting handsy. I prefer Ellington to McCants and CDR because he fits better as a role-player than McCants and spaces the floor better than CDR.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Re: Trade for CDR
Wayne Ellington knows his limits, knows his role, and that's what he does. Mccants thought he was Kobe and now he doesn't have a job. In terms of value to this team(not necessarily skill level):
Wayne>CDR>Mccants
Wayne>CDR>Mccants

So was JR Rider. Doesn't mean he belongs on the team.
