Agreed, no reason to trade him just for the sakes of it. It'd be different if he wasn't being payed less than a mil. He's a bargain even if he has become annoying as hell.

well...I thought Twill had an attitude problem...CDR takes the cake now...it pisses me off he's not helping this team, and he's letting his mouth get in the way...Of course there is no reason to trade him for the sake of it...but, he's definitely been told to fly straight...and the Nets might be willing to LET him go under what his market value...he could be a steal for a team...I jumped right on the CDR bandwagon, I'm off it right now...

AL said it tonight...I get he's young and we're talking about young men/kid stuff...but as a NBA player, you must be professional consistent basis...his immaturity is showing, and its a shame...

How 'bout Darnell Jackson for CDR? Tough dirty work type guy, not a starter but could be a steady role player off the bench. And wont become public.

Darnell Jackson is exactly the type of player CDR should not be traded for :-?

Nets fans still interested in 2010 or has the plan changed?

The fans are still interested in 2010, but are the 2010 players still interested in the Nets?

I'm not really interested in 2010 anymore, I kind of want to wait things out for the new owner-friendly CBA that will inevitably be passed.

And do what with the cap space?
By the current CBA every team has to spend 75% of the cap.
On top of that who is really there in 2011 worth spending on?
Durant is an absolute pipe dream and Melo is almost as unlikely.
IDK man, I'm torn too, cause I don't want them throwing a ton of money at players that won't be worth it, that may become almost untradeable 2 years into their deals, but I'm saying, there's a thin line between becoming the Lakers and becoming the Clippers, you know?

You are 100% right...

and as I stated along time ago, prior to this offseason and our dreams of 2010...the truth boils down to convincing a big time free agent to come and play for the Nets...yeh of course cap space needed to sign that FA is a given, but being able to CONVINCE that player to come here is the real challenge...

I have belief in this organization and their future....you can go back in time it doesnt matter when...regardless of the respect we get as fans and as organization, we've have always made our way, mades some noiese and eventually put a very competitive team on floor...no matter what decade you look at...or how good the record was...

You want a championship, well so do I...but as enetric used to say, there is only a handful of teams in this league who really have a chance at that...yeh it may change who is really competing as we go through each decade, but some of us may have to start settling for being a really competitive team...

Again, the thin line betwee being that competitive team and the Clippers does exist...but I think there are only a few teams, maybe 2 or 3 that fall on that fence...I trust Thorn and/or our Russian influence...(Colangelo) or whoever is making the decisions, will ultimately make the smart moves to be a really competitive team...you just cant let this point in time, which will define you as a team for years to come, slip through your fingers because you could not obtain one of the top 3 FAs...

I just don't want to spend cap space on anyone just because the team has it, like the Pistons and the Trailblazers did.

I dunno about the Trailblazers, what move dont you like...but yes the Clippers and Pistons are teams I consider fall into that group who find themselves bleeding on that fence...

I agree you dont just spend money because you have it...but you might have to really consider some alternative options which can make a VERY competitive team...talk to two second tier allstars, tell them together with some talent we already have we can make a serious run in the next couple of years...

From what I gather from Kiki's latest interview that is exactly the Nets thinking.

If we wind up with Gay and David Lee that is SUBSTANTIALLY better then Gordon and Villanueva...

I agree. If we grab Joe Johnson/Gay Lee/Amare.. It is better than what the Pistons have done. That team is in shambles now.

The only trade I want to do at the deadline is CDR/Dooling for Memphis 1st/M.Williams. I think another late lotto pick (I hope) and we can either retool our bench with the Memphis/Dallas/our 2nd rounder (which may have more value then the Dallas pick) or we can package picks/players and jump up into the top 8 or something and possibly grab another starting quality player along with either Wall or Turner. If a guy like Johnson/Davis/Favors drops maybe we can do a 2 for 1 and jump up and grab one of them.

Thats the best case senerio/most realistic senerio for me. I just don't see us making a huge splash for Amare/Butler/Martin or someone like that.

I totally agree with you. I wouldnt mind going after Monroe. He is the versatile PF I would love to see next to Lopez. He can rebound, shoot, and the guy can pass.
