Dude, wow. If Kobe and the Lakers or Lebron and the Cavs EVER TANKED a season I will never post on this forum again. That is also a ridiculous statement to make

did you see the other night vs. the Pistons I think...5-6 times since 1985?...Nets did it with DC...during the weighted lottery (since 1990) only 3 teams with the worst record have done it...

its funny the Nets and Clippers both won the lottery 3 times, as did the Magic...no NBA championships...

This thread is frustrating because a number of outside posters are consistently missing the point virtually all of the Nets posters are making...

NO ONE IS SAYING ABOLISH THE LOTTERY.

We're saying that MOVING FORWARD a re-weighted system would be best...

That is not proof that its rigged. Since the reformatted lottery in 1994, the team with the worst record has only gotten the 4th pick 4 times.(the fourth pick is the most likely scenario for the team with the worst pick). That is below the expected amount. You cannot claim that the NBA rigs it because of the amount of times the worst team gets the #1 pick.

The Nets have only won it twice.

It's ridiculous but it may happen. And I'm just using the comparison of Duncan-Robertson era. But you get the idea. and besides, I'm only saying Lakers or Cavs, not kobe or lebron... imagine if Kobe went down with an injury or Lebron went down with one and the team tank that year.

If Lebron went down with an injury that team would have no choice but to tank, they are just horrendous without him. Look at that lineup, it's him and a bunch of outcasts.

If Kobe went down, they couldn't tank, Gasol, Odom and Bynum would still carry that team to at the worst last two lotto spot mediocrity.
