If somehow this kid slips past the top 3 it will be a crime. Cousins is the answer to any team that lacks a post player or size. Alot of people are fooled by his size but he has a quick first step in the post but he can also slow it down and make you pay for leaving your feet. The kid is legit and John Wall might not be the best player on his college team come draft day.

All the posters who actually watch the games now *get it*.

Again, I'm a huge Cousins fan, but I highly doubt he skips over Wall for the #1 pick....

But you have some doubt, that's the 1st step to realizing the preseason hype means nothing. Turner and Cousins have shown they have every bit as bright of a NBA future as Wall. Add in the fact that Cousins is a beast in the paint and he's going end up being a very wanted man.

if you're right thats pretty prescient but somehow i think Wall will go #1 and you'll probably call that team stupid (time will bear out who is right)

No probably about it. I was watching some video on the kid last night, he has a totally different personallity off the court than he shows on the court. I was a little worried about Cousins demeanor, but now I realize that's just his *game face*. He's got the whole package. He reminds me of..Do I dare say it? Ah what the hell..Moses Malone. 6'10 280, a mean streak while playing and as strong as an OX down low.

I think Cousins is best served being a center in the NBA. Even if he loses the baby fat I can't see him out on the perimeter moving his feet against the perimeter PFs in the NBA. Cousins would also be well served going to a team with some kind of strong veteran presence. He is still kid whom the NBA lifestyle could swallow up.

Moses Malone? Moses Malone? Top 5 most athletic big men in history Moses Malone?

Be honest, are you related to DeMarcus Cousins?

I would love it if he turned into a Moses Malone level player

we need more good centers

but yea he doesnt have half the athleticism that Malone had

Pretty sure Malone had some sick handles too

How much have you seen of Moses Malone? He was strong and incredibly quick off his feet, particularly with his second jump, but he was primarily a below the rim player who owed much of his success to his toughness, desire, and knack for getting fantastic positioning around the rim.

That being said, comparing Demarcus Cousins to him is dubious at best.

Malone was not a primarily a below the rim player. Sure, he had moves he could use and was not simply a power guy, but he was a sick athlete for his size with run/jump athleticism that has only been matched by a handful of NBA bigs.

Malone used to tap rebounds to himself by simply out-jumping everyone.

Yes, he was. He tapped those rebounds to himself because he got off his feet quicker than everybody else, had insanely good timing, and knew how to use his posterior to knock others off balance. He was athletic, but not really in the run/jump Shawn Kemp sense. He was strong, great first step, and outrageously quick off his feet.

Cousins a lot of talent, but his attitude is what is going to hold him back in the NBA from being a great player.

I think he attitude is fine..I love it when he goes into BEAST MODE.

Cousins work eithic is the one giant concern we should all have..But I will always roll the dice on a uber talented big like Cousins over taking less of a risk on a PG. This league is all about size..Look at the NBA contenders.

Cousins is quickly becoming overrated. He's dominating because he's bigger and stronger than everyone. He's Shaq-ing the college competition.

I don't expect him to do that in the NBA. Al Jefferson and Zbo are mostly skill and fundamentals in the post. Cousins can get there but it'll take work and I'm not convinced he has the work ethic for that. I believe Jefferson and Zbo riding the bench their early years helped them because they busted their ass to make their games better. If Cousins goes top 3 the pressure won't be there as much

Cousins would've really benefitted from coming out in like the 90s and staying 3 years in college. He would've perfected post skill over just power, and he'd have matured up

I heard on the radio that Cousins has the highest PER of any college basketball player within THE LAST EIGHT SEASONS.....

Can any of you stat geeks confirm that?

If true, that's impressive.

possible if he get freshman of the year honor

if he leads top rank kentucky in scoring, rebounding and blocks as a freshman, he will get the freshman of the year award to beat wall. it depends also who get the #1 pick, if they need guard definitely even cousins get the freshman of the year they will still select wall but if they want bigmen, its cousins.

half time on kentucky/LSU game........ cousins 15 pts, 8 rebs already.

I was the first person on the planet to declare Cousins as the 1st pick in the entire draft. Way ahead of everybody else ..He's a fricken monster.

I'm so proud of my boy.
